Hello all - I'm back !!!:j
Gob smacked by the stuff you've done............so well done all:T
Am now getting in a state of panic..................oh eck................didn't get as much time as I thought when I was away to shop around.......no Poundland or Poundshop but a 99p shop so got some brown/coffee colooured and cream flannels..........think I got a black one as well to do a guiness glass but can't remember and haven't really looked at it all yet.
Collected my bits I'd ordered from Colemans and that was it.
So, going to have to drag OH into Lincoln when I've got myself a bit more organised. Need nice jars for journals/quotes/facts, cheap notebooks to decorate and put with journal jar.............umm...........oh can't think what else...........................lol
Good to be back..........going to take an age to catch up...............lol
Welcome back mary, we missed you!!! Sounds like your trip was a bit frantic. Hope your mum enjoyed her relaxing/pampering session. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

REALLY don't mean to cause any offense, but if you don't start charging a lot more for them you are mad!!!! I live in Ireland and have been to a local shop (40 miles away local) that sells basic nappy cakes that don't look half as good as yours and they charge €100 -€130 for them:eek: , and they fly out the door. You are seriously underestimating how cute they are and how appreciative your buyers and their recipients will be. And you should remember that there are a lot of people that don't have any value on a thing unless they have to pay a decent price for it, for example, my mum's dog had four gorgeous pups she wanted to give away free to good homes, advertised in two local papers and the local radio for weeks, no reply, a neighbour said he'd sort it out, advertised them for €30 each, they were gone in a week!!! Sorry if I'm rambling, but not everyone is money saving, and you may as well make a bit extra for all your work.
Here, here, well said kblI think it can be really hard to look at something you've made yourself and be objective about it but seriously Rusty, your nappycakes are truly fab :T

Love those mugs Rusty, I want nice mugs for my two to do snowman soup for their stockings. I haven't found anything nice yet and wouldn't have thought of The Disney Store so thanks for the tip
They do lots of different ones, even ones with straws etc. However if you plan to get a plastic one like mine don't get the one with a paw print base as these break dead easily when dropped  (I tested that out in store :eek:)Here, here, well said kblI think it can be really hard to look at something you've made yourself and be objective about it but seriously Rusty, your nappycakes are truly fab :T

I need some help please Rusty. We're going to a christening in a few weeks and I'd like to make a nappy cake. Little girl will be about 15 months old. Do you get your lovely blankets from Primark? I was thinking of adding some pyjamas, socks maybe, a small board book or mini scrapbook album, toy for top, sixpence piece in a pretty bag... What do you think? What do I need to stick tiers together? I have made 2 cakes previously but they were single tier. Thank you:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

the fluffy blankets are from primark and they are £3 these are fantastic quality (my daughter has 8 ) Approx 33 nappies (for her age probably size 4 or 4+?) you don't need anything to stick the tiers together as they just sit nicely on top of each other if you make each tier with slightly less nappies. Pj's are fantastic, again loads of pretty ones in the sale at primark, failing that asda also do some nice ones but a bit more expensive. What kind of toy were you thinking of? Tesco do some lovely little rag doll type soft toys (think they were £2) have wool hair and very cute. or Home bargains normally have the TY beany teddies in for £1.67 ish) (If you don't have a home bargains I have a lovely pink pig, or a cute tiger I can post to you both TY from home bargains) I have used both on my cakes. Sixpense is a lovely idea! The other thing you could do ... is name a star after her? like you did for your boys. and maybe print it onto card and roll it into a scroll type thing with a robbon around it then use that inbetween tiers?. Also though if you are cello wrapping they will all stay in place without any helpRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

hi everyone,
i just wanted to thank everyone here for the inspiration!
I have a cupboard full of boots no7, time delay etc....... and wasn't sure how to put all my xmas gifts together.
I think the hampers are fantastic, and make a great change. I'm always stuck when it comes to the men in my family, but not any more........ i'm gonna try a fishing hamper for my brother inlaw, and thought of a music hamper for my brother.

Thanks so much Rusty! Gives me loads to go on. Didn't think of naming a star but that would be fab to add - thanks, going to have a look now. Need to trip to Primark I think:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

The thought came to me last night whilst I was typing out the reply... OH loved the stars I named for the children and also the one for his dad off the children
was just a thought. If you have some spare time you could make a sock monkey? i'm sure that would be loved. Primark is definately a good idea
