Lovely box Savingholmes
... I started to put together a jokey type hamper for OH but now I might just fill a shoebox with crap or even take it all out and just stick it in his stocking. OH and I love the Jamie Oliver goodies so I thought about taking advantage of the Sainsburys offer they do nearer christmas where it is all 3 for 2, it makes them worth while. so I plan to do a Jamie Oliver hamper for him but not til Sainsburys get their christmas stock out. Apart from that I am stuck for him
The children are almost sorted. I know what I want for my daughter, and My son has marked plenty off in the argos catalogue but suprisingly amounts to only £130 which is cheaper than normal lol

Hello guys!
Long time no see (well since just before last xmas)!
I am planning on doing gift baskets again, however, I am stuuuccckk for ideas, I did "movie" baskets last year and am looking to do something different this year for:
Mum and Stepdad
Dad and Stepmum
Mother & Father in law
Brother in law & wife
So 4 different baskets I can do for couples.
Also I would appreciate any advice on wrapping the baskets, mine looked great last year until I wrapped them - the cellophane just didn't want to go on properly, hahaha! (Or should that be ho ho ho?)
Been looking through and some of the latest baskets look great :T0 -

Are any of them hard up at the moment, or do they have a sense of humour?
I was thinking about a 'Beat the fuel price increases' basket. (Sorry if it has already been mentioned btw - I can't recall seeing it on here).
You could put in things like big fluffy socks, candles, hot water bottles, flask, blanket to snuggle under, bath stuff to share (cheaper that way!)...
You could also put something 'naughty' in so they can share body heat and have fun without the TV, or other electrical thing, on. Maybe not for your parents though....:eek:0 -
I picked up three tins of male deoderant in MrT yesterday cuz they're on offer @ 3-4-£5..plus I had an moc for a fiver so really I got them for nowt
I struggle with male gifts too...A couple of the blokes drink red wine so this year I've some cheapie glasses that I'm going to get my talented offspring to etch for me, to personalise with their names & maybe look for some bright red sox to go in the glass:rolleyes:
I was also having a wander--as you do--& realised there is a fair bit of black/slate grey packaging so may also get a 'pamper your palms' thing going with emery boards, orange sticks, nail clipper, buffer & hand cream..particularly useful if they work outside. Ditto bath soak-- those jokey pillows are coming back into vogue too--& a cartoon beach towel if they go swimming/surfing etc...lets face it girls, its all stuff they 'borrow' from us:DFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

A tip for baskets - Boots are selling off their No 7 Anti-Cellulite balm for £5 at the moment, I think it's RRP £10, so it's free with the current till spits!
Mind you - you'd have to know the person quite well and know they wouldn't get insulted if you insinuated they needed it!
Other things I've found that you can get free - Ruby and Millie cosmetic sponges, Ruby and Millie nail buffer files things, plenty of other R&M accessories are £5 or under. My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
