Need some ideas here ladies. I have a friend who loves liquorice and I want to do a small hamper for her with her fave sweets in what could I use for the hamper only thought I have is to get a nice tin about 6" square and display them with the tin open the wrap in cellophane, she loves the wheel liquorice but I will buy others too. I only want to spend a max of £5 as it's just a token thank you to her. She likes retro stuff so I thought I might find a nice tin that has that idea but where will I get a reasonable priced tin that won't eat into my budget. ThanksNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Hi sethsgran, this is half your budget but at the weekend I bought a gorgeous square tin with lid from Whittard Coffee shop for £2.50 (reduced from £5). The tin is pink with a cream lid. It is very retro in shape and very lovely. Would look fab filled with sweets! I am hoping to use it for a Xmas pressie for a teenager and fill with dinky smellies, flannel etc.
They also had a blue tin (think it was blue tin with pale blue lid but wouldn't stake my like on it!). If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Made these crafty boxes for my friend's girls for Xmas. I bought the clear boxes from ebay and filled with a few bought bits and loads of card, paper and other bits that I had at home already. The larger box is for a 3 yo and the smaller two for a nearly 5yo. The idea is the larger box of goodies can be used for painting, colouring, sticking etc and the smaller boxes for card making...
In the card making set is 2 small paper punches from Hobbycraft for 29p each in the sale.
In total think they have cost about £8 to put together as I had so much paper/card to add in:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
That looks brilliant rainmac:T
sethsgran - if you've got a woolworths near you you could get a tool box 99p (think there's some piccys somewhere of them all done) and fill the individual sections with the different licourice. They've got transparent lids so the sweets show through, pop a ribbon round it and thats about it.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Rainmac - they are an excellent idea, well done :T
Also a good way of using up all those lil bits and pieces in your craft box, I could probably do 2 boxes for Xmas with mine!:coffee:0 -

Hi all,
Firstly I would like to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, I came across this thread by accident while looking for ideas for my dad and his wife to be present. I hadn’t a clue of what to get them until I saw this thread.
So I made my first basket and they were really please with it. :j :j
I managed to get it to the hotel before they arrived and asked reception to place on their bed.
In the basket I made I kept to things they could use on their wedding night.
So I had things like
Small bottle of Moet champagne- £15.99 Tesco
2 x Champagne glasses- £1.59 each Ikea
Thorntons chocolates- £9.99 Throntons
3 x Scented Candles- £2.99 Ikea
Lighter- 20p from local shop (to light candles)
*Sanctuary Toiletries
*Botonic Toiletries for men
*Wash bag to place Toiletries in after
* Above three items purchased from boots - £20.00
2 x body puffs from Morrisons – 59p each
Massage oil- Free unwanted present.
Just married confetti - 99p
Mr & Mrs ducks- £3.99 from a little shop in Brighton.
Basket from the 99p shop.
And as a little extra I hid a photo frame that I bought from John Lewis which they can keep forever.
I have a picture of the basket before it was wrapped but forgot to take a picture after I had wrapped it.
I will try and post picture if I can.
x Nichola x
P.S i love making baskets now got my nan's 80th birthday coming up so any ideas would be grate.:p
