One in pink and the other in Blue for my children ... I want to fill them with little cheap things which they can use/play with but have til christmas to sort it. Any suggestions?
So far I have:
Colouring books x 2
crayons x 2
and thats it ... thought about getting some chalks, some sweeties (or may just put in their sweet compartment tray I am doing) marbles for son, small dolly for daughter, couple of cars in each
Any suggestions? My son is 6 in just over a month, and my daughter is 14 months.
How about some books? Book People have got some great bargains on their website and I believe there's a free delivery code floating around.
Also how about some playdough or plasticine? Sainsburys have got some cute childrens aprons reduced to about 50p.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

I have a couple of books to put in them as I work for Usborne and sell childrens books so I get them a bit cheaper which helps.

Brilliant hampers savingholmes :T - some great ideas..........I've been rifling through drawers and cupboars for pressies.......amazing what you find
rusty love the boxes ! Haven't got a Matalan near us though. I'm struggling with what to get baby grandson this year (the teenage ones are hard enough) but what do you get an 18month old boy ???
A lot of the supermarkets do babys cars they are quite chunky and are from 1 year. My daughter has a couple and has had hers since she was about 9 months old they are really bright colourful and safe for the younger ones. Maybe an aquadraw? depends how much you have to spend. I am buying my daughter an aquadraw which is basically a pen you fill with water then they draw on the mat and it doesn't make a mess on walls etc as it is just water plus they mat dries out and can be used again and again. They do little ones which are around £7 and they do a travel one in argos which is around £10 then they do a big one which is £20, a colour one which is £25 and then character ones which can be around £30. I am going for the colour one. This is a pic of the colour one.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

I also went to Matalan this week and picked up some of the chalkboard boxes for £3 but could only get blue, lime and orange no pink. Its my Godson's 6th birthday next week so I have bought him a blue one, Meet the Robinsons DVD and plan on filling it with marshmallows, popcorn, maltesers etc. He has too many toys!!!!Little Miss Chatterbox

Can I just askthe best place to get the baskets from ? also do you but rolls of cellophane or bags for the baskets?
ThanksAvon sales - C4 £1080 -
rusty - thanks. Like the look of the aquadraw.............I have to be careful, not just with my budget but with the size of what I buy. My son's house is very small so not much room there. They often visit his other grandparents as they live in the same town. Theyve a bigger house so bags of room there for him.
For his birthday I got a collapsable toy box from woolworths for £5 in the sale and filled it with bits and bobs from the charity shop (teddy bears, rag books, a musical organ type thing) the general idea being that he could put different toys in it when he went to visit his other gran.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
