I got my cellophane off ebay. Paid £2 for 5 metres of it. Have wrapped 2 of my hampers today, just need to get big bows now. I will ahve to get the local florist to do that for me as i am useles with that sort of thing, although hubby did a not so bad job a few months ago when I did a nappy cake for my work colleague. i will post pics of my hampers when I get round to putting them on the pc.

I just wanted to say that I have been hugely inspired by this thread to make some hampers this year for close family. Everyone did a great job last year from the pictures I've seen, I hope to see plenty of pic's this year!! Of course I'll post mine in the next few months :D

Oh and if anyone is looking around for some good quality baskets, Argos have got a special offer on their Seagrass baskets, 3 for £15, but they are on Buy One Get One Free until 18th of Jan next year (guess they must of took heed of this thread :p) so really they work out at £2.50 a basket.

wow thanks Pixie. I think I paid about that much for the one that I used on my nappy cake. Never thought of looking on ebay for bows....derrrrr! I look for the most obscure things on there at times but didn't expect to see bows!:rotfl:

  • I would love to recieve something like the one you have done for your dad, poppett. I bet he will be really pleased to get that.

  • Finally made a start on my baskets today, bought some baskets and tissue paper. Have decided on a lilac theme for ohs brothers girlfriends as the lipgloss, bath fizzer, candles and deodorant wipes ive bought are all lilac lol! I also found 2 unused shower gels in my bathroom and yes youve guessed it, they're lilac! :) So that was a stroke of luck! Going to put a big bar of dairy milk in each too as the wrapper is purple and a nail varnish. :) (probably a baileys miniature too)

    Poppett - they are excellent.

Thanks all for your ideas on this thread - I have a box full of Tesco shower gels etc under the bed, plenty of tesco wine under the stairs and now have bought baskets in the tesco direct clearance sale.

My main question is - where do you keep your finished baskets for the next 3 months???

    xx
