Hi all
We have got a wedding present to buy and wondered if you have any inspiration for a basket done MSE style, preferably.......
They have been together years so am a bit stuck as to what to buy as they probably have got everything! They have asked for MONEY  :rotfl: from everyone they have invited as a pressie. They will be getting a basket from us:rolleyes: so want to do a really nice one, but again MSE style.
Any advice appreciated, thanks.

I popped into Poundstretchers which I think is now instore? anyway they had huge amounts of baskets ideal for hampers in all different shapes/colours/sizes and all prices varying from £1 - £10 (the £10 was for a set of 3 fairly big ones) Unfortuynately I got to the till to discover my purse was at home! oh well back tomorrow and will start putting bits in for my FIL. Just need to find a couple of things for him from the 2 children but not sure where to startRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

Hi Rusty, great price for baskets! I need a couple so will go and have a look. How about a homemade pressie from the kiddies - painted hand/foot prints, handmade card... I saw paint your own mug sets in Au Naturel for £2 (or may have been £1) last week. Does your FIL like gardening, could plant up some sunflower seeds in little pot, stick stickers on pot/ decorate with ribbon... My boys' grandparents love anything made by them, however bad it may be! I say made by them but I help as the boys are 4 and 1 - my 4 yo gets bored quickly and usually before we've finished making the item and my 1 yo just likes making mess!!! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Hi mr & mrs t, never made a wedding basket but got a few ideas... could go for something completely traditional like champagne/wine, 2 glasses and maybe some chocs. Other ideas: photo frame, candle - can get 'wedding themed' ones, nice choccies, something personalised (e.g. little wooden plaque with their names, his/hers flannels...), teramundi pot with a few coins in, silver sixpence for luck...running out of steam now. May think of more later, good luck!!!
Just done a google search for wedding baskets, what about a breakfast basket: bottle bucks fizz (much less £ than champers!), marmalade, jam, tea bags, coffee, 2 mugs - 'his' and 'hers', can you buy croissant mix like you can buy bread mix? If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
wow, thanks rainmac for all the ideas...picture frames are good as can be special for wedding day, will be on the look out for glasses...also like the idea of personalised towels. I used to be good at cross stitch and that sort of thing so may have a practice and have a go at it first, trying to personalise them myself.
Since writing the message, thanks rainmac you have come up with more ideas,..........like the bucks fizz / breakfast them idea too, will have a look on the internet now. Cheers again.0 -

Hi Rainmac, That would be a good idea ... I will have a look in aunaturel later on today whilst I am out. Father in law is very awkward to buy for from what the MIL says, so far I have different kinds of cheeses to buy (ones with fruits etc) taster size bottle of white wine, he likes toffee so thought about a bag of thorntons toffee. but than I start to get stumpedRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Well if I;d have known you could cross stich I would have suggested that too! I cross stitch quite a lot of pressies and cards. You could do a cross stitch sampler/ picture and frame it, make a card, stitch onto towels as you mentioned, coasters...the possibilities are endless! I love to stitch, helps me relax and keep sane. I tend to stitch in the evening after being with my two gorgeous but manic boys all day!!! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0
