A couple of days ago, Au Naturale were selling black heart shaped wire baskets for £2. They weren't very big - they'd take a small deodorant, or ...... my mind's gone blank lol. [Just edited as I realised something as simple as a nice flannel and bar of soap would look ok :)]

They're about 8" at their longest (that's a guess btw ;)), but don't be put off by the colour. A bit of shredded blue/pink/whatever colour lol, would set them off a treat.

They might seem pricey for what they are (they are nice though imho - I bought 2 for a coffee table, not realising they were heart shaped lol), but if you're giving them to a dh, or partner, they could be used again and again :)

I've decided to make male hampers, particularly for the 3x20 somethings & probably anyone else who drives.

I'm getting the anti-bac hand cleanser stuff, around 60p in MrT; flat pack toilet paper:eek: ; pack of paracetamol; small pack of plasters; few safety pins; some disposable gloves; pocket pack tissues; peppermints; "8um-stoppers"....tablets to help relieve runny tums:p ; small scissors; bin liners for the ones with cars so they have something to kneel on if they need to change a tyre or summat; maybe those black flannels; chewing gum; emery board; disposable camera.

Anything else you can think of?

What could I put it all in? I was thinking a smallish sandwich box perhaps, so it's easily transported.

    Hi BigMummaF :)

What about a reflective waistcoat or those illuminous armbands? and maybe a torch (in case they have to change those deflated tyres in the dark? ;))

I've seen those reflective waistcoats going cheap somewhere - they roll up really tight. I'll get back to you if/when I remember lol.

A good one to add is Duct tape
its really handy to have in the
    boot of your car.

    Dont know if
they still have them but the
    99p shop were selling
    disposable car seat covers
    in a box.

Not really a basket, but I'm getting these delivered to the Worcester argos branch to make boxes of goodies for my mums and best mates birthday. Going to fill them with lush goodies, and they can reuse the box afterwards :)

Sounds good - make sure it's waterproof! Also I would include a small candle & holder, with matches (in waterproof tin or whatever) in case of being stranded in cold as candle heat can warm the inside of a car to a 'reasonable' temp - also peppermints/other hard sweets are meant to be good :)

Just spotted these on another forum I frequent. Thought they might be useful to use gift basket makers.
    ASDA
    £8.50 reduced from £20 .
    Six nested seagrass baskets.
The smallest base is 11x5 inches (the sides slant out slightly) and 4 inches high. The largest is 19x11 inches and 6 inch high. They weren't in the home section next to all the other baskets but in an aisle nearby with a mixture of reduced items.
