I was looking for something on the
Laura Ashley site and came accross
these hamper baskets that have been
reduced.I know they are not the
cheapest place to buy from but if you
were looking for something a bit unusual
    or different.these hamper baskets below
are all reduced in their sale and are in
sets of two all of them good sizes.

Just been ploughing through what looked like a mountain of carrier bags to sort out exactly how much stuff I'd got. Well, got enough for oldest ex-foster girl, MIL's is full, baby grandsons toy box is full and there's enough for my son plus other bits and pieces I've yet to decide on.
I worker on a Roses theme for MIL................
    4 pink covered coat hangers
I bone china mug with roses on it
    Toilet bag with roses on
Some Marks & Spencers 'rose' body lotion
Box of small pink rose shaped soaps
    Box of pink drawer sachets.

Filled her basket what with the coat hangers sticking out..............lol I've yet to wrap it.............couldn't face that this morning. Got some voile with roses on to do that.

    Ex foster daughter has
    brown and cream napkins
brown and cream faux suede cushion covers
Hessian bag with natural body cream and 2 cappacino candles in
Coffee cup and saucer I got yesterday with some scrunchies I found (small ones, three on a string in coffee and cream)
And little pale brown teddy sits in the middle.................lol

Problem with hers is the wrapping. I bought a lovely silky scarf in really dark coffee colour but it's not wide enough to go round the basket and tie.
I'll have to do it from the inside of the basket I think..............couldn't face fiddling with that today...........and want to get some little chocolates to put in with her coffee anyway.

So...............still got more shopping to do.........................lol That's the fun part:T

These don't seem to be selling that well as I keep seeing them all over the place, but I've just taken mine apart (grrrr at the packaging lol) and they're pretty good value at the moment... imo.

It contains two small individual puddings - expiry date April 2010, so will be ideal to use in Christmas Hampers, as a gift for a single person or couple. There's also a miniature bottle of Three Barrels brandy - also good for the hampers. Or whatever .....lol.

The winner for me though is the flambe ladle. It comes with its own stand and is ideal for use in the kitchen next to the oven or slow cooker - even if it's just for skimming soups, stews etc. Plus it looks nice on its own ;) but would be good in any food-related hamper.

I'm even keeping the packaging to store those awkward Christmas bows etc, so for £1.20 (in the 90% off sale), they're not so bad after all

As a disclaimer, I should add that I've no idea what the puddings taste like. :D

    HTH someone. x

P.S. I've been reading some of the posts since I last posted and will thank everyone later for the excellent ideas that keep pouring in. :) I can't wait to start them (hampers) again :D

(I think I'll post this in the Boots section!)

Thanks for reminding me Passion8 - I'd forgotten the Boots 90% had started (and I was with sight of a big store yesterday too  ).

I've got to wait until the weekend now, but hopefully there'll be something left - those sets sound a good deal (and I need a new skimming ladle for my jam making).

    :)

You forgot the 90% sale? Get going now lol. No seriously, these sets aren't moving that quickly so I hope there's some left for you.

I was just admiring the ladle and stand in the kitchen ;) and realised it's a perfect match to the utensil set I bought at Sainsbury's so a double whammy for me ..... I can use it to stand the pea strainer etc in :D

Yep - I forgot the sale. My little local branch only had a few damaged items at the start of the 75%, and I'm only near a big one a couple of times a month, so it just slipped my mind.

I did however manage to make one of those visits on the day the 75% started, and there were loads of the ladle sets then, so here's hoping.

I actually had my eye on a toiletry thingy I was hoping would be in the 90% - don't want the contents (couldn't even tell you what they were, lol), just the box - it's a lovely pinky-blacky swirly padded thing, and would be perfect for a present I need to give later in the year - they wanted £25 for it at christmas, so I think £2.50 is a fair price (again, there were loads at the 75%).

    It'll be this:

They're full price on the Valentine displays now earthmother, different coloured box but same contents, so it's a shame you didn't manage to grab the other version :( - they were flying off the shelves at £6.25, so I really hope you find one.

I bought one of the other variety so I'll be using the contents and recycling the hatbox for Christmas. Ditto with the GWP jewellery box. (Can't do with everyone thinking I'm unoriginal and cheap lol)
