Just as a heads up I am looking into getting themed ice cube trays for making baggies of chocs. I already have heart & cubes but trawling ebay they have disney ones too. Would be great little add ons.
With regards to the baskets, I moneysaved so much as I used the display boxes form Tescos. They were displaying 'make your own childrens christmas cards' until I tidied the shelves a little, saves them being crushed & cost me nothing. They are available throughout the year, various colours/sizes in several isles in all supermarkets so keep em peeled.
I want to get some of these too, poundland did have the disney ones, winnie the pooh, last year, so no idea if they will still have them,.. stupidly though I never got any at the time... always the way!0 -
Hi i have found these baskets on the wilkinsons website and i was wondering if anyone has used them for hampers and roughly what size they are?
It doesn't say what size they are online just small or large and they havn't got any in my store.

99p Shop (we have both a Poundland and a 99p shop) have lovely oblong shaped baskets which are lined with different coloured gingham. They're great for colour themed baskets. Last year I gave my mum one that was lined with lilac gingham and filled it with lavender smellies plus other lavender coloured items, she loved it.0

In Somerfield yesterday I spotted a lovely set of 3 differing sized sea-grass baskets for 4 pound.
Anyone every decorated an old sweet tin as a 'basket'? I noticed there was a thread on it, just wondered if anyone had tried it.

Christmas 2015 - started to save/wrap!0 -
Thanks rosekitten - these would be good for me as I have exhausted the hamper thing now I think but this is another way of still doing them. MIL and GMIL would love these filled with goodies. Thanks. I can be on the lookout for tea towels now.0

its not bad because all the christmas

Hi
I used the £1.99 baskets for my hampers this year, and they are large enough to lie a bottle of wine in at the bottom and there is a bit of a gap around it. I made 'bath/pamper' hampsers for a couple of friends, and in each I managed to put the following:
Bath cushion (not a blow up one) - which was pretty big
bottle of wine
manicure set
4 glass candle holders with candles
some dove products
tube of foot pampering products
Yes/No doll
sweets/chocolates
bath tea bags
by the time I had packed this above they were flush with the top of the hamper.

CT2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
I was in Lidl in Winson Green today and noticed that they still had some of their gift boxes leftover from Christmas. These came as a set of 3 for £1.99, I bought some that didn't look overly Christmassy (stripey sides with gold lid with cheruby type things on the top). I was surprised when I got them home because they are very sturdy and nested inside each other complete with their lids. I shall put them away and use them for hampers this year.
I gave one of my chums her Christmas present yesterday - a hamper with some chocs (M&S special offer - £2.99) a bottle of wine (£4.00) and 4 antique etched tumbers (£1 in local charity shop). She was chuffed to bits and thought that it had cost the earth only I knew different.0 -
Surprisingly the offspring are still trawling thru the goodies in their 'hampers':D so was a much better idea than I ever imagined!
Looking forward to scooting out some bargains for more boxes throughout the year.Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Just an idea that might be useful
these tea towel cakes I posted earlier
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j266/bagpuss111/craft/cakes/cakes1/th_xm2.jpg
It seems that the cup cake items
are considered quite groovy, cute, cool etc
according to the younger relatives in my
family. With this in mind I was searching
for stuff before Christmas and the prices
are totaly outragous.
Even the fabric to make stuff was £12.99
a metre.I was in Primark and in their
home & wear section. They are selling
a pack of five cotton tea towels.
I cant remember the exact price but
three of them have stripes running
through them but two of them are
made from cup cake fabric.I know
they were under £5.They would look
quite good made into tea towel cakes.
Sat around with nothing to do one
evening I made this cushion from
two of them:j:j:j0
