Here's a pic of a wrapped 'baking' one I've done for my daughter. I didn't take a pic unwrapped so you cannot really see whats in it
sorry
Its a round red silicone baking dish filled with accessories - flour sifter/bowl scraper/cookie cutter/chefs apron/timer/silicone spatula's etc.
She's 13 & really into baking so I'm hoping this will encourage her
And I got her a cook book to go with it too.Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
Only just seen this thread and didn't have time to read right through it but what an excellent idea. I've got baskets kicking around that I've had stuff bought for me in. They would do the job nicely................going to save me a bob or two for birthdays and christmases and I'd think in the sales, they'll be some cheapish baskets.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Hi everyone,
I just want to thank you all for all the inspiration and encouragement this thread has given me. There areso many photos of gorgeous hampers- I am sure the people who receive them will be so pleased!
I would normally give gift vouchers or money to relatives for Christmas, but this year I have done:
3 mugs with hot choc sachets/ marshmallows/ sweeties etc. Used the free code for truprint so only paid £1.99 for each mug, got the chocs on bogof so just works out a few pence each, and then wrapped them up in some cellophane I already had in- worked out about £2.50 each and they looked really personal and special! I would normally have given those 3 people a £10 voucher each
3 big hampers- I got various wine/ champagne/ port/ biscuits/ chocs/ books as and when they were on special offer over the past few months.. Used the big lakeland gift bags to wrap them in and they look great. Doing this has meant the value of the things in the hampers are easily above the amount I would normally give in vouchers, but has cost me a lot less due to the offers (eg would nomally have spent £40, but got £65 worth of things for a £30 spend)
4 sweetie selection boxes- got the boxes with dividers for £1 from Woolworths, and then filled them with sweeties I got on bogof. Made some name tags to stick over the Woolworths value labels which were superglued on  lol. They look so cool and cost so much less than buying something similar online!:rotfl:
Have saved myself a lot by doing this and am really chuffed with the finished presents as they are much more personal :T
Thanks to everyone who has posted on this super thread, and Merry Christmas:j0 -

Sorry its wrapped, its basically loads of smelly type stuff mum uses such as fave perfume, fave nailvarnish, hair colour etc. she appreciates "things she can use" so much more than a lavish smelly set costing a fortune that she wont use half of the stuff in, so im please with how it turned out... Wasn't very moneysaving but I would have spent this much anyway...
:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A
