Inspired by this thread, I had my first go at making hampers today and enjoyed it so much I'm hooked! School bazaar coming up so made 2 x 'coffee lovers' hampers, a 'girlie treats' hamper for a little girl and a 'Super Mum' hamper. They cost me nearly £60 all in (not exactly moneysaving I know) but look an absolute treat and the school have said that they will be raffled off as first prizes. Just need to find some more baskets.... :j
  • Are these online or instore please?

    The pillows were instore

All these hampers look fab and some of them done so inexpensively. It's a great idea for the recipient to be able to rummage around the hamper finding all sorts of presents, I like the idea of the themed ones too.

I've got the school xmas fair tomorrow and after an anxious wait my clear cello finally arrived today, so I've been on a massive cello wrapping spree.

Here's another sweetie bouquet I've made:

It looks great. I'm sure she's going to love it - you've managed to pack so much in.

p.s. the cotton twine you have in there is the same as I use to make my bracelets...so if your mum gets bored of gardening......!!

bodycare the chemist/toiletry type stores are selling a miniature bathroom tidy in pink for 19p. They're waterproof and look like a miniature laundry holder on a metal frame and measure about 6" x 8". Whilst they might not be to everyone's taste for a bathroom ;), I think 3 in a row on a shelf would look nice in a teens bedroom, and are handy for smaller items like hair bobbles, cotton buds or small stationery products like erasers etc. I bought myself one to keep receipts in - bargain at 19p lol.

They also had heel carriers (shoe bags with a drawstring) and although they didn't look like they'd hold a pair of Timberlands ;) they'd make an excellent holder (and finishing touch) for slippers, or even as a holder for cotton wool balls, gloves, scarves, belts etc etc. All those loose things we have in the bottom of our wardrobes lol. They're in a really pretty pink colour with a picture of a ladies stiletto on the front and another bargain at 19p!! At that price I think I'll buy some more lol.

There was also some Charles Worthington "take aways" reduced to 59p - shampoos in pink, and moisturisers in light orange, but have full priced take aways for 99p. Handy little gift for holidays.

    Hope these help someone :)

(I'm not sure about the rest of you hamper makers, but shopping has taken on a whole new concept for me. I've stopped looking at gifts as such. I look more at what the gifts are packaged in (or what can be packaged in them) for ideas for hampers! :D)
