For anyone else who's struggling I found if you didn't have a spare pair of hands to help an elastic bobble does the trick. Bunch up one side at a time and secure with a bobble so that your hands are free to tie with ribbon, then remove the bobble. Bring both sides together and tie with a bobble then secure with your ribbon again and remove the bobble. Hopefully you will have a lovely tied hamper!
    Hope this makes sense.

  • Hi everyone :)

I just wanted to post and say a huge thank you. I've been reading over this board for about a year now and in the past few weeks have followed this thread closely. I decided to create a basket for my MIL and FIL collectively and ended up making FOUR more..one for my Mum, Sister, Brother AND Stepdad!! They all look fantastic..I will post pictures when I have time, but thank you for such unique ideas. I'm fed up of giving the same presents every year..they are going to love them!

They look really luxurious. I like the way you've 'placed' positioned the towel in the hamper for your mum - it sets it off nicely.
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j

  • These are 2 of my wrapped ones. For these 2 I bought 2 flower patterned storage boxes from Au Natrel for £3 each and lined them with white tissue and then sprinkled in some "fake snow" to make them look more christmassy before putting the items inside. They sat on my floor unwrapped for a few days and I began to worry about members of my family seeing what was in them (these are the type of boxes with lids, I stood the lids up at the back as I thought they looked better presented this way) so I wrapped them in some white tissue paper which has gold gift boxes on it (65p for 3 sheets in a gift shop nearby) then added my cellophane and bows.

They are both pretty much a mixed bag. The one for my mum contains dove products, body shop stuff, hot chocolate, air freshener for her car, impulse body sprays etc. My sister is 15 so I went into H&M and bought £10 worth of Hello Kitty products. They have a lot of Hello Kitty Bodycare stuff in there so I picked up a lot of that which I know she'll love (tissues, lip glosses, body lotion). Also some miniture impulse body sprays, some sweets, little tidbits teenage girls love!
