Forget dealers, I never pay forecourt prices. Find a good car auction and pay less than trade prices.

I know a good car auction... and have visited it twice to get an idea of how it all works and the sorts of cars available. I have a bit of car knowledge myself but am by no means an expert.
With only £1000 in my pocket for a car, any advice on what sort of cars to look out for at an auction? The one's that will be less trouble than others if there is any trouble with them...
I'm an auction newby (but know the basics - deposit, buyer's fees etc), so any insider advice from a more experienced auction car buyer would be appreciated
Many thanksWhen dreams take flight, follow them... :A
...but make sure you have thoroughly researched the price of flights before doing so!!! :cool:0 -
Buying a car at that money at an auction is highly risky, you would be better off buying from a private advert in your local paper.
Auctions are dumping grounds for junk cars at that kind of money.0 -

Local auction house has a "< £1000" sale on a Wednesday.
Should I go along for a chuckle?
