^^^^^^^where would you like to stand?
You have read the other threads so I assume you know the answer.0 -
Your position is the same as everyone with excel, ignore them completely, read this thread it's got all the info you need !Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Goldfish799, if you have only read the threads about Excel (some old, but of course still relevant) then you may have missed the most important info at the top of the current board. See the whole board view and read the stickies at the top, then any other threads:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163
Start by looking at the stickies by Crabman, watching the Watchdog link on there and seeing pictures of the letter-chain you will get. Then read on, look at ANY threads about any private parking company; you will soon understand what this is all about and that you are safe to ignore. That's where you stand.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I too have a demand from excel for parking in the same car park at the end of george street wakefield. The photos you refer to show you entering and leaving and are taken by automatic cameras. There will be no display of your ticket ( like my own demand from them) because when you entered you had not purchased the ticket yet- and when leaving the picture is of the car rear. It only confirms you there between the times stipulated. I have a valid ticket covering the times they say I transgressed. They cannot know if you displayed or not because the car park is unmanned- thats why they use these cameras. Thy cannot fine you because only courts can do that. Its a scam to frighten you to pay up. I am not parting with a penny and have complained to the DVLA and the information comissiuon office about the miss use of data under the data protection act by this pondscum. They have been defeated in court already for use of threat tactics. Just do a google search on them. Dont pay.0

We believe that Watchdog are planning another piece on PPCs, possibly focussing on Excel.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/gotastory/
I would encourage anyone with ANY private parking ticket to complain to Watchdog, whether it's Excel or not. These are NOT fines but the invoices mimic PCNs (even down to the 'ticket' initials). Then the threatograms from debt collectors beggar belief with their rubbish!

hi richops;discussion/3092906]I've just received a PCN from Excel Parking for 'allegedly breaching the car park terms and conditions in the privately operated car park at George Street - Wakefield'I've just received a PCN from Excel Parking for 'allegedly breaching the car park terms and conditions in the privately operated car park at George Street - Wakefield'
The reason for the contravention states, 'Parked without displaying a valid ticket/permit'
I've used this car park many times and have always purchased my ticket and displayed it clearly in my windscreen as i did on the stated day 04/02/2011
They have photo's recording my entry time and exit time which i presume are just photo's snapped while driving in and out of the car park, and not actually of me parked up. (can anyone confirm this, as surely the photo's should relate to the specific offence!??) The photo's are also very dark and unclear, i presume they are just to prove it was my reg no.??
I've read all the other threads on here about other peoples problems with Excel Parking but just want to check where I stand.
My only doubt with this is that in my rush on the day i remember having a hazy forgetful moment with the order of the last three letters on my reg number! and regrettably never double checked that I had typed it in the machine right.
If that is the case, maybe they have more of a case against me? but then again surely all they are entitled to is the actual cost of the parking ticket if anything at all?
I also, having previously had no problems, don't have the ticket i purchased so can't set my mind at rest
Their letter is so vague it really doesn't explain or show much evidence at all!
HELP please??!
I do have the ticket to prove i was in the car park on the same day as you only because i put it through my expenses.
I am v annoyed and almost paid the fine because i thought i may have put the wrong reg in too BUT when my company sent me the ticket my reg was correct!!
Strange this was on the same day 04/02/2011-I was parked there from 10.42 for 50 minutes and displayed a ticket valid until 12.43.
What is this company doing??0 -

Good. The more complaints about PPCs the better! :T
You will ignore the standard letters from debt collectors won't you? Links have already been given above to the top thread which show the letters. See my post #14.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Good to know someone else has had the exact same situation happen to them!
I've just received another letter, apparently my fine is now £100 :rotfl:
Surely there's no mug out there daft enough to pay them?!0 -
Surely there's no mug out there daft enough to pay them?!
Unforunately there are many who do pay, some havent heard of the s*am, some dont have internet so cant research these s*ammers.
Best thing to do is educate those around you to this s*am make sure they understand these are non enforceable invoices, they ARE NOT TICKETS nor are THEY FINES.
A private company CANNOT penalise a private individual by means of a penalty...that is law !You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
