Hi Peggypeggydoodaa wrote:Morning,
I've just given up the fight with the lovely Talktalk re my broadband not working, but really need to find a free dial-up connection to use in the meantime whilst waiting to swap back to BT
I've googled and found a couple but am reluctant to use something I've never even heard of.
So, can anyone actually recommend a free dial-up access please or have you even heard of adial.co.uk or connect4free.co.uk?
Any help appreciated. Thanks
I recently changed from Telewest to TalkTalk (please don't tell me I've made a mistake - I KNOW so already)
Anyway was without broadband for couple of months and I found a cheap and good alternative to BT etc dial up. My Internet Pass. (http://www.mipcards.com/). You buy a prepaid card for £10 basically works out at around half a p per minute. You can get cards from some post offices and shops or buy online.0 -
Just to let you all know that as Biscit/V21 was down again yesterday !!!. I used the geoisp number with 1899 for about 2.5 hours. Just checked my 1899 phone bill today and yes it shows as only the 4p connection charge.
It is a bit slow but useful as a backup and is cheap as well.
Thanks OP.0 -
My Biscit/v21 broadband ceased last night and I have used the geoisp number with 1899 twice today, 1.25 hours this morning and now. No connection difficulties, a bit slow but for 0.04p per connection I can easily live with that for now.
Thanks Random for this you've saved me a fortune :money:0 -
I need to re connect my dial up modem sometime if I want to try but I wonder if anyone had tried it under the Primus free off peak Option 2 package.

I've used UK2
dial up in the past as an emergency back up. It's local call rates but always seems to work.2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix :beer:0 -
