Fundraising for school PTA

Options
Hello,
Thought i would start a thread so we could all share fundraising idea's for our local school.
Make one giant PTA group;)

We have 2 main fundraising events each year, and several smaller ones throughout the year. Our 2 main are the summer and christmas fete, then we have an elf shelf in the run up to christmas, a mothers and fathers day shelf, health tuck shop, we sell ice creams after school in the summer, yellow moon catalogues go home with the kids and we have raffles after all shows the kids put on.

Our next event is our mothers day shelf, letters go home with booking forms, at a cost of £3 per child they get to choose, wrap and personalise a gift in the hall to take home for mum.
This year we are having glass tea light holders with a pink tea light in it,the kids will decorate them with glass pens and make their own gift tags.

Anyone else got ideas they would like to share?

This is a good diea - my first post too.

At our school we have an Easter egg hunt when school finishes for Easter hols (they finish early that day)
Cake stall at sports day. We give the parents a paper plate and they bring lots this way. We give any left to the old people in the village.
    We had a square dance
Family Bingo - always a winner!!
    Raffle at every event
Quiz night with supper - always a good turnout for this too.
5p challenge - every class has a 1ltr bottle and first class to fill the bottle wins a trophy.
    Uniform selling
Family BBQ with overnight camp in the school grounds - again, always popular and a good fundraiser.

We only have a small school but the turnout is always good. Family events are more popular, especially these days with both parents working in the week and wanting to have a family night.

We are running a Line Dancing Event 2moro night!!

We have a monthly Bake Sale - each class takes it in turns .... teachers are quite competitive and fire the kids up - last one made £75..... not bad for 20 mins after school!

Family based events are the way we are tending to go as well .... our 'adult' events are not so well attended.

Our first Summer Fair is this year so would love any advice / help on this please

Another thing we did - there is a company called Happy Schhol Bag and they give 42p for each kg of clothing - our school raised £242 with this and it took no time at all.

We raised a lot of money doing a Smartie tube challenge.

Evey child in school was given a tube of smarties, they then ate the smarties & returned the tube full of 5p, 20p or £1 coins and were given another tube of smarties.

Cost about £100 to buy smarties from the cash & carry for 700 tubes & we raised over £600 net.

We did this over the Easter holidays & took the decision to give every child 2 tubes of smarties each, regardless of whether they actually returned the tube.

Another company that collects clothing is Bag2School.

My school has a bunny drive (same idea as beetle drive). Its a family event and is very well attended. The teachers practice with the children beforehand so they know how to play if they come. Prizes are usually easter eggs.

Fab thread xx cheers OP x Don't forget to have a nosey around " big shop / supermarket " websites for grants . We got £800 ( from a leading supermarket who are known for their clubcard points;) for a parent support group ( AKA mums chat n coffe morning group ) for parents who's kids have an ASL .
We also run a 50/50 club x £1 per week per person 50% goes to PTA the other 50% is paid out in prize money monthly ( * be aware you do need a gambling licence for this , but they aren't difficult to get xx )
Alternative Karaoke nights raise loads for us. Basically it is just a normal "do " but each person is given a raffle ticket as they arrive. The person who's number gets picked eithr HAS to sing or can pay £1 for a new number to be called .
Will be getting ma thinking cap on incase I can add anymore xx
    Happy fundraising all xxx
