I don't think anyone's come out of this thread with any credit.
If perhaps this has turned one person to look more closely at loopholes and tricks to save a small fortune, then i'm glad for them.
Not so sure of the petty baiting that has followed.0 -
If the info had any value you might be right.........but it appears the OP has posted a deal that already needs membership from 01 Feb-in a foreign country and then suggests there could be a way of doing it with "a computer glitch"(there isn't btw) and is encouraging people to go ahead and try it -when it simply won't work for anything but US or PuertoRico resident US Air existing members. Maybe he posted not realizing how useless it would be -but once the flaw was pointed out I think his ego was hurting.
Did I bait him -yes but not until he had called another poster an idiot for no good reason.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I understand the PO Box, makes complete sense to me. OP, feel free to let me know how to get round the computer glitch. I'm interested and won't post it.0

On the other hand that person needs to be aware that if they are caught doing anything that is in any way not legitimate, then the airlines can be draconian in their response; and they have 'fraud' sections who hunt down such people.
For instance the OP suggesting that UK citizens use a US PO box to take advantage of a promotion restricted to those living in the States, is IMO very dangerous.
To also post this:Who is the one with 4 trips booked in First Class, and another 400K in the bank?
might well get the fraud squad hounds on his trail.0 -
Maybe having a whole website dedicated to moneysaving where users have discount codes, deals, loopholes, etc, and don't post them would be a good idea? Or maybe not.Feell free to let me know how to get round the computer glitch. I'm interested and won't post it.
The MSE Dictionary
Loophole - A word used to entice people to read clearly written Terms and Conditions.
Rip Off - Clearly written Terms and Conditions.
Terms and Conditions - Otherwise known as a loophole or a rip off.0 -

I understand your general point and agree.
However, i'm not sure what you deem to be 'draconian', and i'm not sure the words 'dangerous' or 'fraud squad' really fit into this.
I would, as many people have insinuated, push people towards Flyer Talk - it's a far better forum for this purpose than this forum (and the members can be far less hostile than those here!).
What is true is that a veritable feast of money can be saved on flights and upgrades legitimately and sometimes, bending a rule or two. Either way, there is rarely a simple way of doing it, it can take time and effort, but many people find it worthwhile.0 -

A simple - Buy 50K miles receive a 100% bonus seems to work.
Maybe you need to see a doctor or something! I'm not quite sure what it is you want? I've given you details to a deal, that (as far as I know) can't be gotten cheaper anywhere else. All you want to do it sl*g it off.
Maybe, next time your on a plane, I'll be smiling when I walk past you, on my way to First Class, thinking "peasant".!
You seem to have missed the fact that those who have commented on this thread do fly in J and/ or F. The difference is we don't look down on those in economy. Indeed, the impression that your posts give me is that you are one of those 'Look at me, I'm in the big seats' passengers that everybody cringes at. That is the reason why you will have a spare seat next to you, no one wants to sit there.Gone ... or have I?0 -

if you get a pm that tells you how to go back to Feb 1st to ensure you get the extra mile let us all know.
On your other comments I cant imagine how asking for full information can be classed as not coming out of a thread vey well. From the beginning all that was asked was for the OP to post a) all of the details and b) once we had the details how to ensure the cost of purchasing the miles wasnt wasted if you didnt get a "glitch" but found you had wasted all of that money because you hadnt entered an address as at Feb 1st. Glitches are great when they are assured but when not are a waste of money.
We are all here to save money but from this thread everyone end up frustrated and I only HOPE no one took the PM advice and bought the miles or they could end up with worthless mile, not getting a flight they want and then MSE wont have done what it was created for.0
