You can use a PO BOX in the US. That works fine!
and again this wont work "Members who did not have a United States or Puerto Rico address on file as of February 1, 2011 are not eligible to receive the 25% additional bonus regardless of address updates"
So have to say again you get people to buy the miles thinking they get the extra and they clearly wont. Tell me what I am missing, the terms are clear but this thread isnt.0 -
Seems pretty obvious to me that the OP has missed the point.
To qualify for the bonus you need to have already be a signed up member of USAir's frequent flyer club AND have a US or Puerto Rico address on the card as of a month ago.
Perhaps the secret PM info is instructions on how to build a time machine!
So I wouldn't bother going over to flyertalk to ask about this-they can be a tough crowd -especially when someone hasn't read or understood t&c's on a deal.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

well done to you, but unlike you most of us dont have a US address @ 1st Feb so we all loose out. Lets end this thread by you agreeing and we can all have a good nights sleep without thinking we could have gone to the US for £900 is if we had a PO address at the 1st Feb ah but if I had known that today I probably would have also had the lottery numbers for the 1st Feb and wouldnt be to worried about saving on bought miles

but if they dont you loose the money on the milesUnitedFlyer wrote: »IT glitches happen all the time

So, the miles bonus is a US thing? Why didn't the OP mention that?
I also think calling another user an idiot is frowned upon by the mods.Legal team on standby0 -
My take on this. US airways do currently have a promotion for their frequent flyer members, I made use of their last promotion in November 'buy one mile/point and get one free'
Note the small print on any offer, from memory you had to have been a frequent flyer member for a certain length of time, so you couldn't just sign up for the offer.
I have flown with US on a number of trips and gained miles, although not enough for a return trip to the US, so I purchased enough to get me a return trip with business class on the return flight to the UK. This offer was via the .com website and purchased in $.
When I looked at the current offer (2 weeks ago) it was get 75% free with an additional 25% if you are a US resident, so not as good as the previous offer in November.0 -
I won't fly US Air so it's very unlikely. Dreadful airline.
UA/CO, DL or AA -different matter entirely.
I suspect I rack up a heck of a lot more BIS miles than you do and have status that reflects that.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

All the info will be in here no doubt!
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/star-alliance-413/
I am Platinum with AA(One World Alliance Sapphire) (and last year 'blew' 125,000 miles on a first class trip to the USA.)
The amount of miles you can buy is also restricted, and they are expensive.
I know little of the detail of Star Alliance(my US based brother is a member) but from all the chat on the Frequent Flyer forums(and it is like a religion for many) it is not as good for award travel as One World.
So I would be very interested to know if the scheme, of which the OP is reluctant to give details, is legitimate. Or being cynical, is there something in it for the OP
There are also people who find 'glitches' in the computer booking systems where filights can be booked for stupid prices. One World nerds found a fully flexible return First Class ticket from somewhere in Canada to Cyprus via Rome, and back via another European city, for a couple of hundred dollars for the complete trip - you could break your journey in Rome for as long as you liked. The miles alone were worth far more than the ticket cost.
This loophole was quickly stopped, but not before loads had booked.0 -
One World redemption is definitely superior to *A and don't even get me started about SkyTeam-especially Delta !!I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
