Same here, main job will pay as normal on the last day of the month, second job pays the usual week in arrears and then a week in advance on the friday before xmas, with no payday in between xmas and new year, but this money all goes off debts straight away anyway, so less interest for me to pay :T
  • I'm doing nothing, I get paid on the 16th of every month:p so everything will be paid as normal, and I thought I'd give Christmas a miss this year:cool: We are all saving toward a big wedding in New York next year, so have decided not to buy prezzies for anyone. All we are doing is Christmas Dinner:D , quite liberating really!!!

I get paid on the 29th December then again on the 31st January, so like a normal pay day for me.

Although next Thursday is my last pay day before xmas
  • I get paid every four weeks, next time is on 1st Dec and then again on31st Dec. OH gets paid weekly on a Friday, so it wont be any different for us, thank goodness! Dont think i could wait 6 weeks:eek:

OH gets paid on the 22nd, and It is usually the 28th...I'm hoping that I won't need to touch any of the money, and just leave it until we would normally start using it. Shouldn't need it, cos I've got the christmas money already put aside during the year.

If I do need anything, I get paid on the 19th, so that should do us.

Got bit of a problem this year.

I leave my current job on 1st Dec and don't start my new one until 18th.

So in Dec just got Holiday pay (6 days) and some travel expenses. This has got to last me until end of Jan. So its going to be a very tight month
    :p
  • Geez,
in the civil service we get paid religiously on the last working day of each month.Means I will get paid on the 29th Dec then on 31st Jan. OH MY GOD.
They do let us get a xmas advance from Decembers pay, but what's the point cos then you are just broke New Years Eve.

Like Mrs(no)money my OH gets paid 4 weekly (which in itself does cause problems) but it doesn't make any difference to me over the Christmas period.

  • My husband works for a Government agency and they have the option of taking half their pay early.

Many years ago we probably would have done that, but since we have been budgetting properly for the last 3 years we don't have the need.

Often people will opt to take the money early so he goes around giving them lectures on how they aren't receiving more money just more spread out which means they will be more skint in January.

God I am so proud of him.
