Rebekka wrote:Hi, Exactly how much do you have coming in, and how many is this providing for? If the above is for 2 adults and one child i dont think you will get IS as you are well over the limit
Its for 2 adults, 1 child and one bubba
According to entitle to, we would get the same tax credits and also £90 IS, and then HB and CTB.
I know single mums that get more than we are now, so I know that we can get more.
Pandas, I am looking at going to work myself, I applied for a job the other week, not heard anything back yet, so cross ya finger for me. (Its the one in that naughty shop I made a thread about
) Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
two adults and two children would be entitled to -
£90-10 IS/JSA
£78-26 tax credits (for children)
£29-15 child benefit
But please remember the first two are means tested benefits and as you have said you are in receipt of some income and these are figures used for the unemployed with no income, if in receipt of IS you will be also entitled to HC and CTB0 -
Apparently interviews are still going on and they are getting round to everyone, it was a national thing to fill out all their stores with new staff.
I am also looking into a garden center near by, well its at the back of me but through a load of woods  Other wise, its about 6 mile by bus. Nowt much seems to be goin in my neck of the woods at the moment unless you have 90 years expriance and NVQBHS honours, even tesco is full
The 28 day thing is up in 23 days, we have kept a diary of every phone call, who we spoke to and what message left (I am a bit anal sometimes
) and letter sent including copies of each letter, dates of letters sent, and also proff of postage. Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
Wanty, to keep himself right, he should return to his work on the date he has stated he will return in his letter, despite them not getting back to him. He might be playing into their hands if he doesn't. If he doesn't want to return, for example, because the whole situation is stressing him out and making him ill, then he should get another Doctor's line from his GP to cover him.
Good luck.

My local Tesco and Asda have a board full of Christmas Staff wanted asap, especially night shifters, which are well paid. Now is most definately the time to look for work in supermarkets.iwanttosave wrote:Apparently interviews are still going on and they are getting round to everyone, it was a national thing to fill out all their stores with new staff.

Oh dear, that's a shame. Well you are clearly computer literate, have you considered registering with a temping agency - someone like Reed for example for some office work? Particularly with Chauff being at home during the day, it could be ideal for you. You will only need basic Word and Excel knowledge and a fairly good typing speed.iwanttosave wrote:I havent had chance to try asda yet, but tesco has filled all their postions already, I asked the other day when I was returning a CD.

Plus it will be great experience for you in terms of being in a working environment. Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

I was thinking about a job in computers, but I dont actually have anything on paper to say that I am good with computers which is what they always want.
I have never heard of reed, I will look at that, problem with temping though is I dont drive, and our bus service is kinda out of whack, so it cant be far away.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
pandas66 wrote:Your spot on there Fleago! If your letter has stated a date he needs to go back then or they will take it as HIS resignation and he will have forgone all his back pay or sick pay.
Has his current sicknote got an end date on it? I suppose it must if he has given a date of return. Has he had any luck with ACAS, when my friend dealt with them he was in constant touch.
If he wrote or rung they acknowledged all correspondence. Theres only so many weeks pay or sick pay they can withhold till they are breaking the law and ACAS will demand the monies.
It did have a date on it, but they sent a letter back saying phone me to arrainge a back to work interview.
We have rang, twice a day for two weeks to get
"she isnt in today"
"oh you just missed her"
"she is in a meeting at the moment, I'll get her to phone you back"
Its not a big company, only 1 person he can talk to about it.
Bit of background.
They got funny with him when they found out he had the tumour, kept "loosing" timesheets meaning he would only get about £10 wage, then he had to go on the sick for a little while because of migraines, his boss then started to degrade him, call him stupid and he doesnt even know why he was hired (his boss is a prize A needle, loads of people have left because of him) and making life hard for him, they now owed him about £1400 that they would "sort out tommorrow" or they had "misplaced his timesheet"
He then went on the sick, migraines meant he couldnt operate machinary, sick pay was paid for 2 weeks, then just stopped....
Then the letters and phone calls to them began.
We have not gone with ACAS, but took advice on a step by step basis from an employment rights solicitor.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

Oh trust me, I have been holding my tongue, badly!
If you see my above post, I didnt want to make life harder for him with his boss than it already was.
