I received a letter from Nationwide this morning, telling me that the rate on my 2.90% e-ISA was raised to 3.10% on 4th March.
  • I've been with nationwide for a number of years and there customer service is excellent so will be transfering my isa from santander as soon as possible because they are bloody terrible, just hope santander dont make a balls of the transfer.

Once the transfer is complete do i need to close the account at santander or do nationwide do all that for me?

    Hi

We transferred ours from Santander to NW last year and the closure took place automatically. Took quite a while to take transfer though.

There seem to be confusion in my local branch today. I explained to the staff member that I want to transfer my 2.75% e-isa (opened in August last year) into the new 3.10% together with money from another provider. She seemed to be saying that it was same isa even though I was pointing out the different rates  Eventually she checked my account and confirmed I wasn't getting the advertised 3.1% :wall:She then told me I could only open one isa a year.

It took me ages to convince her I wasn't opening a new isa but transferring to the new higher rate isa. I also wanted to ensure that when I transfer from my outside Nationwide isa they don't automatically put it into the 2.75% isa.
  • 3%, not very good is it?

No, this is an "e" ISA, they can't do it in branch. They can give you a Consolidation form though.

I know that, but if you read the website (as I did) it says you can
    pop into any Nationwide branch
for a form - which was what I did today.

I am trying to help you here.
Don't discuss it with the branch staff, it's an e-ISA and therefore they will not be trained about it. What yo need is an ISA Consolidation Form. Fill that out and send it to Bournemouth, or, better still, hand it back to a branch, they will send it for you and date stamp it so that you get the transfer done at the date of handing in the form.

then there seems to be little point in the website telling you you can get the transfer form from the branch. Not sure how I would have got it without discussing it with a staff member since there were non on display.
