You may or may not all be being wound up but some of your replies towards someone who suggests they have had mental health & other problems are extremely judgmental (especially given the nature of health problems cited) so it's little wonder if you then get "attitude" back!

Assuming that the post is genuine, I am afraid that whilst I agree you should be able to switch to a provider of your choice the chances are your supplier may object and no one will help you with that. The Energy supplier (which you unfortunately didn't name) may however have funded an energy trust arrangement which you could apply for a grant from, thus problems with debt, possible transfer objections & social tarrifs may all be over come (eg see http://www.charisgrants.com/ )

I would also suggest you return to your Mental Health worker and ask them to help you with this.
  • I'm not a troll. But some of the people involved in the Utilities section are touts, I've just found out. What's morally worse? There are quite a few on the whole forum.

I have no idea where these pathetic and lonely people get off on being judgemental and why other posts are relevant. Simplex D IS a very good accounts system for example. And it is easier to change supplier to a smaller firm, one has already offered!
  • @ undaunted Sadly this firm doesn't seem to do grants, but I can try!

Why don't you just use the other forum if you think we are all giving you inaccurate information, I fail to see what Cardew said that is worth "Reporting".

These remarks of yours are not flippant?
Have you not heard the phrase personal responsibility?

(response) I was hardly ever there!

Used to run a business, I'm a copywriter. Keep your opinions to yourself.

Finished with this now. Good job I was on 4 other fora, this has been the single least useful.

In addition...my Ma was on StayWarm!

    Hi Phantom Avenger

Staywarm is a tariff exclusive to E.ON.

One of the qualifying criteria is payment needs to be by Monthly Direct Debit.

When your mother passed away, your solicitor should have contacted us to close down the account and stop the monthly payments.

At this time, another account will have been set up. This could have been in the name of the solicitor sorting out the estate.

We have a team who specialise in handling accounts where there's been a bereavement as there are certain processes to follow. I would talk to them and tell them about your particular circumstances.

Just speculating here, but if we haven't been told about any relevant changes, it may be we have been sending letters etc to your solicitor.

This team are best placed to advise what has happened with your mother's old account and the developments since.

Once sorted out, we will be happy to set up a payment arrangement to spread the outstanding balance over a more manageable period.

Hope this points you in the right direction. Let me know if you need any more info as will be happy to help.
