Ok,I take it you called them to inform them? Not being funny, but when you did and they said 'don't worry about it' did you say that you lived there and will be staying there and therefore the bill would become your responsibility?I'm guessing not.
I know you've had your problems, and I'm glad that you have some help (don't know if you did before),but it is a responsibility that you didn't take for whatever reason so you can't really blame the provider for billing you.If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

How could you possibly have had consistent billing if you didn't get the bill changed to your name?
What did you think cold weather payments were for?You clearly knew that things needed to be sorted (you told them your mother had passed) and you clearly knew that gas and electric cost money.Ill or not, you've managed some things and have had help, why wait 2 years?Surely you knew it was coming? You state you know there are laws related to all this etc etc so surely,if you 'know' things like that then you know you should've been paying???If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
I'm now told I can pay 3-25 pw as priority debt. Yeah, online tariffs are cheapest but social must be equal to them. I may get help with the debt IF I can change supplier in the first place...letter of deadlock soon awaited.0

This is exactly why we need the rolly eyed smiley!!! FGS!!! It's YOUR responsibility to contact them and set things up,you aren't meant to just sit there gobbling up gas and electric for free as long as you can possibly get away with it!It's YOUR responsibility!!!!!!!
You didn't change the name of the bill until november, why would they contact YOU?
They probably tried contacting somebody else though...If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
