Help think ive got malware!

hi hit a problem with COMBOFIX i downloaded it into the firefox downloads box then i disabled AVG then clicked on OPEN on the file and it wouldnt open, a window popped up saying "COMBOFIX cannot run when avg is installed this is due to AVG's targeting of COMBOFIX's files/processes please uninstall AVG or use another tool.
What should i do now?

So long as AVG is disabled it should still work. Will it not let you continue at all?

No after that message came up i just exited it didnt know what to do?

AVGs out of date anyways

Use the 32 bit AVG removal tool

then run combofix

Ok will do. Ill be without any anti virus and ill have to do a reboot will it be ok? Sorry if it seems a daft question but as you can tell im not very techie!

You cant get infected from just rebooting

if your already infected (Which is what were trying to determine) then AVG wasnt doing its job anyways

ive unisntalled avg and rebooted then clicked on COMBOFIX same things happening a warning window appears saying to uninstall avg and it would be dangerous to continue. Help!

Its just a registry left behind which confuses combofix

ok just tried again and a window pops up saying ive got a corrupt file of combofix.exe where should i download it from now?

Delete the combofix file

Reboot and keep pressing F8 to get into SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING

Download a fresh copy and run that
