Sorry to hear about your OH Lynzpower - terrible of them to give you no notice at all.

    Today is EE for me

Breakfast - Weetabix (HEB) and milk (HEA)
Lunch - chicken chow mein (5 syns)
Snack - ham salad (lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes) with ff vinaigrette
Dinner - SW recipe of kleftiko style lamb steaks with vegetables (not sure what - maybe left over ratatioulle or asparagus - or both!)

Tomorrow will be a bad diet day - girls night in - I have syns saved up from last few days but not sure that'll be enough! Will see what happens - Fridays and Sundays are generally my naughty days.

Sorry if I sent the curry recipe too late for tonight's dinner! I ended up 'rescuing' the disaster with a tin of tomatoes aand puree and stock... and it still wasn't brilliant but it had so much lovely chicken in it I couldn't bring myself to waste it. I remember we had dinner very late that night;)

Can I just ask a question about target and maintanence please? Am I right in thinking to maintain, we just have one healthy extra A OR B per day? ie not both....?
    Lil_Me wrote: »
It varies by person. We were told to gradually increase the number whilst keeping an eye on the weight. i.e if you add 1HE and you keep on losing then add another HE. I think the starting point is 1 of each and go from there either increasing or decreasing.
I have done mostly green to get to target so have always had 2 of each HEs, now to maintain I'm supposed to try and eat extra HEs i.e 3 of each a day but I do struggle to eat that many.

can anybody point me in the direction of the recipe for the dyno rod soup?

Here's the link to the recipe thread - scroll down to the Soups list and Dyno-Rod is the first one. Enjoy but be aware that it makes masses (really, masses) and it does what it says on the tin :rotfl:

  • I'm just sorting out the food for a picnic tomorrow (on a seriously tight budget!!) and was wondering if anyone knows how many syns are in chicken tikka satay sticks? Its ones in a pack and they have like 3 round pieces of chicken on each stick. They were given to me so I hate the thought of wasting them but don't want to blow syns either!

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the encouragement. I have been an 'on-off' SW'er for years. I have the attention span of a gnat, and am disabled and often house bound - which means not only am I not moving much, I get fed up and sabotage myself. Stupidly I know I'm doing it, but that doesn't stop me.

But in Feb 2010 I hit 12 stone 6lbs and was size 16/18 (I'm short).

So I decided on a different plan of attack. What I did was set myself half stone mini targets, and when I hit them I stopped going to SW and just focussed on maintaining for a few weeks by doing SW on my own at home. Then I went back and had a crack at another half stone.

When I get to target this time, I will have lost two stone in 14 months doing it this way. I am already comfortably in a size 12 (I still keep buying size 14's though, and having to take them back, as I look at size 12 and think 'no way will I get into that' :o ). Of course this wouldn't work for everyone.

I think I'll probably stop when I get to 10.5 stone. I know it still puts me in the 'borderline obese' range on the BMI chart, but I look and feel well, and I'm at that age where too much weight loss leads to saggy skin and wrinkles

    :-)

This is a brilliant idea. Taking it in 'bit-size' chunks takes a lot of the pressure off and has obviously worked for you. I wouldn't worry too much about the BMI lists.....most athletes have a BMI way above what they ought to have according to the lists.

I agree, once you get to a certain age you do look better with a little more weight on - it helps to hold the wrinkles at bay :D

    Well done :T

TakeItEazy - been at my Mum's today and she was complaining of the very same thing. They're so hard to get rid of too.

Guns - I hope your DD is much better now, Poor thing, I bet she's fed up of being in and out of hospital so much and the worry for you must be awful :(

Lynz - hope your OH gets it sorted. Decency seems to go out the window when it comes to money.....if it ever existed in Government departments :(
