Well kind of - he worked for the government. He was only a temp ( despite being there for years) and thus yesterday he was told, you have to go, no money for you, clear your desk, escorted out of the building. They told him a few days ago that he was secure until October.

    :(

Was he actually on the employers books? In other words did his wage slip and P60 name the organisation as the employer, or was he employed through an agency, or on a self employed basis.

If he was employed directly by the organisation, and had been there for years, then he had accrued protection under the general employment protection legislation, regardless of the fact that his job was labelled 'temporary'. Depending on the circumstances this may mean that they would be required to follow proper procedures before terminating his employment, and even if this was a genuine redundancy situation, he would be entitled to redundancy pay and notice pay. ACAS is a good place to start, or try your local CAB, but please be aware that time limits are strict - three months less than one day starting with the date of dismissal.

Sorry for going off topic :o

    Morning all

Lynz -so sorry about your OH's job ....

Gien - I generally use LIDL and Netto -I hated the uk netto but the ones out here are lovely :j -I also take advantage of the naffi when they do "whoopsies" -they need to reduce things as they are sooo expensive -I prefer German products on the whole anyway. ooh and I like JIBI as they often have my activia intensely on offer at €1.49

Well it looks like its set to be a nice day here -hubby has gone to a golf competition and isn't sure what time he will be back -so he is having "easy cheesy pasta" this evening, so thats nice n simple to sort out,,,,
I have done my shred, had my brekkie, phoned my mum -so after this I will get my lunch and then settle down with my beads n things and get some more dangles and earrings made - I doubt I will sell them al but I guess the more choice I offer the more chance there is of folks wanting 1

Im having another Red day *surprise* so it should pretty much look like this:-
    lemon juice in warm water
    14g oats (0.5xB)
    125ml semi (0.5xA)
    1/2 banana
    raspberries

    smoked haddock fillet
    ratatouille (0.5)
    71g peas
    (0.5xB)
    apple
    fibre plus bar (B)
    chicken breast
    2tbs extra light mayo (1)
    lettuce
    cucumber
    tomato
    peppers
    tickled beetroot
    tickled cabbage

    activia (2.5)
    125ml semi (0.5xA)
    250ml semi (A)
    2tsp camp (1)

So thats 2A+Bs and 5 syns

I have that hellmans extra light mayo stuff and I have learnt how to use it-now lets be honest -"it is vile" as it is -BUT what I have learnt is that if you add it to the tuna, chicken the day before you want it...it kind of soaks in and is much better (well its edible)-its the only way I can use it..but then I had got used to the German full on 80% fat one -but I gave that up as it was 5.5syns per Tbs .... so i will make do with this stuff (only until the 3 bottles are gone then I will try something else )
Anyway enough waffle -have a lovely day everyone...
    -6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.5

Oh Lynz - that's a real bummer:( Hope you're both going to be ok?

Really going to try to stick to the plan today and get a bit more exercise too. Had a rubbish night's sleep and when I'm tired I eat so its all about avoiding BAD today.

Breakfast - banana (just about to have)
Lunch - left over free 5 bean chilli, fruit if still hungry
Dinner - SW spicy wedges, beans and fishfingers (2.5 syns each)
Extras - summer fruits and FF fromage frais, grapes, 2 slices of Norwegian cheese (A choice)

    So that's...
    1 A choice
No B choices yet (maybe have a Hifi bar if I fancy one)
Either 5 or 7.5 syns depending on how many fishfingers I have

Hope everyone has a good skinny day. xx

Mrs M - Hellman's low fat mayo is absolutely rank, Heinz is so much nicer.

Can I just ask a question about target and maintanence please? Am I right in thinking to maintain, we just have one healthy extra A OR B per day? ie not both....?

It varies by person. We were told to gradually increase the number whilst keeping an eye on the weight. i.e if you add 1HE and you keep on losing then add another HE. I think the starting point is 1 of each and go from there either increasing or decreasing.

I've got my plan ready, could you cast an eye over it to see if there's any problems?

B: orange and grapefruit segments, VLF yogurt, 1 tsp honey.
L: Ham salad sandwich, might put 1tbsp mayo in it for 4.5 syns, apple, yoghurt (3 syns)
D:chicken Bhuna with cinnamon rice from the magazine.

HEA is milk. Snacks are banana mid morning and probably some grapes in the afternoon.

BEWARE! I made the chicken bhuna from a past copy of a magazine and it was a disaster! It basically had almost 2lbs of veg that were meant to cook down into a few mls of yogurt and lemon juice. It didn't!! I emailed SW and they apologised, said there was a mistake and sent me a copy of the correct version. I have it as a Word document if it helps or PM me your email and I'll forward it to you..

Hugs, lynz but that's exactly the advice I was going to give.

I lost 2lbs at WI this morning and am just 1lb off 2.5st:):j

Thats horrible! What a way to treat someone:eek: Hope he finds something else soon.

Green as usual for me. Using an A for tea and coffee

    Had a coffee first thing
    Breakfast Tea/nana/yoghurt/alpen light(1/2B)/clementine
    Lunch WM roll(B), quorn burger, ketchup(1), 2 x waffles(5), beans
Dinner will be quorn chilli and rice with an A of cheese

Supper 2 x meringue nest(5), yoghurt, strawberries, tea

Will probably have a yoghurt and my other alpen mid afternoon:)

Thought I'd post this for all to see. Thanks to 'cycling' for bringing it to our attention

I weighed in at group yesterday morning and have lost 6½ from my holiday weight. 3½lb to go to get back to target.

Also some good news, I had a job interview via an agency this morning for an admin assistant job (3 days a week). I start Monday. :j
