I have adjusted my charity donations and the payments will go down as of next month. Didn't really want to do this, but I need to save where I can for the near future. I will review it again this time next year and see where I am.
Got to get on to cancelling a couple of direct debits (and DH has too) - and I really must look into PPI claiming. I wasn't going to bother, but I think I am going to now as if accepted - I could really do with the money. I've seen the new tool on MSE and it looks pretty straight forward to use.
I paid PPI for years on my credit card and then when I found out I didn't have to have it - I cancelled it! But I haven't claimed for what I paid - silly I know - but I suppose when your circumstances are changing it gives you a good kick to get things sorted!
Got back late from friend's house last night - she's a nightmarewhen it comes to computers and when she's trying to choose something...oh well - all done now and I walked down the town at lunchtime to pay the money in she gave me to pay for the item.
I was so tired last night, but I kicked myself and told myself that I had to cook! And I did...and we enjoyed it!
Tonight should be a little easier, Brisket in the SC, mash and gravy - DH can do it if I am too tired. :j
A friend has just contacted me for a character reference, so need to do that tonight and will drop it round tomorrow - then we are catching up for tea next week.
A little SE prep to do tonight and then I can settle down. A midweek glass of vino is on the cards and we are going to try the sparkling rose I was given for Christmas by my Godfather - it's the last of the Christmas wine and we have got to be a little stricter with ourselves from now on.
Happy hump day everyone.

They do - they save huge amounts year on year
Sparkles! Enjoy them, I like anything sparkly2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Just checked the bank and it's the dishwasher insurance I cancelled!! I did mean to do this - so that ok. Have cancelled the freezer insurance this morning. That's £70 a year saved. We believe that if an appliance is £200 or under to buy - it's not really worth insuring for more than one year. Washer/Dryer insurance will continue for at least 18 months more I think.
Gr0up0n cashback has tracked!! :j

ETA B&B e-mailed for a for availability for a few days away in Whit Week - staying in the UK this year to keep the spends down...fingers crossed they have room for us - really need to plan things properly this year so we have things to look forward to but we don't spend too much money!! #gettingthebalanceright :rotfl:Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

B&B reserved! :j Deposit to go off tonight and then that's all set.
A few tweaks to the meal plan today and shopping list done.
Been reading a really interesting blog today about budget meals based on £1 per person, per day. It was very interesting and gave me a few fresh ideas how I can make the food budget stretch that little bit further. We do quite well anyway, but I would really like to squeeze that little bit more.
The web-site is here if anyone is interested.

I won't be doing the challenge (not yet anyway :rotfl:) But there are some nice ideas and recipes - probably teaching people to suck eggs, but I feel it's good to read other peoples views on these things so you can revise what you are doing and perhaps save a few more pennies.
Have done a character reference for my old neighbour today, so going to drop that off later after shopping and then I have a little SE work to do.
Pulled Pork Egg Fried Rice for tea tonight using frozen LOs and any bits and pieces of veg in the fridge that need to be used up.

B & B confirmed and deposit paid :j
I shouldn't be this excited, but I like it when we have nice things planned. Never been to Dorset!
Some SE stuff done last night, but I am really going to have my work cut out tomorrow finishing everything that I want to do - but I am sure I will manage.
Going to try and get some of the chores done before I go to yoga tonight to leave me as free as possible on Saturday.
Got to collect some parcels from Mum's on the way home...
I have been a little naughty today as I had a lunch today - was fed up with the office so went out and had a hot choc and a jacket potato! Must be good for the rest of the month now...promise.
Salmon & Herby Potatoes on the menu tonight - looking forward to it.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend - mines busy - but it will keep my mind of work till Sunday evening anyway.
Take care all.

Another week comes round...
SE venture was not as successful as previous - but it was a good experience and I made some new contacts. Will be paying what little I took in the bank at lunchtime. Not one to get disheartened I am planning my next venture which is in 2 weeks.
This week however, I must concentrate on DH and I, my family and a bit of charity work.
Notification of staff appraisal received - I haven't had one for 18 years - trying not to worry about it, but I know that it's going to be awkward.
Prawn & Fish Paella planned for tonight's tea - just need to get a lemon from the shops on the way home.
I hope everyone has a good week.

Prep done for appraisal, just going to write it up.
Been trying to concentrate on getting things done and not worrying - using some yogic breathing techniques and visualisation to help keep me calm.
Massage booked for tonight - very opportune as the appraisal is tomorrow!!
Turkey Stroganoff with jacket spud planned for tonight's tea - coming to the end of the turkey I sliced and diced at Christmas - it has done us well.

Bit nervous this morning.
Massage was good - my shoulders were really really tight - but she managed to sort them. Even better - she extended her January offer so money off the price too...bonus!
DH has sent me to work with some 'Rescue Remedy' in case I get too anxious.
Bread is required - so will be getting this on the way home.
Looking forward to a Turkey Dinner and glass of vino tonight - I have nothing else to do, so should be able to relax after a bit of stressful day.
