Had a lovely evening on Saturday (after trying to get all the chores done and succeeding on the paperwork front at least). We had Vegetable Spring Rolls and Homemade Beef Chow Mein in honour of Chinese New Year and a couple of glasses of vino.
Got most of Sunday off. Didn't quite get all the washing done on Saturday, so it ticked over - but no matter - got that done while DH popped to the Toy Fair to have a look around (no selling this time - and fortunately, no buying either!)
I did get breakfast in bed! And we have booked a little break in March when I have a week off work. It was a bit stressful booking as it wouldn't let me pay and in the end I used a different card and it was fine! There is a watch on one of my CCs as there was a problem earlier in the month and I hadn't realised that they had sent me a text to see if I was trying to make the transaction...I was a little frustrated to say the least - but we got there in the end and we have something to look forward to in March. We are going the day after my birthday so should be a nice couple of days treat for us both.
We then had a lovely Lamb Dinner at the MILs and then home to bed - I was shattered after doing practically nothing!
Charity meeting tonight and Sausage Pasta planned for tonight's dinner (some posh veal sausages we bought at a food fair a few months ago that have been snoozing in the freezer - use sparingly and we will get two meals out of them).
Hope everyone had a good weekend - can't believe it's Monday again already.

Mornign MCI,
Love that you did a Chinese in honour of the Chinese New Year, quite a nice idea actually.
Sounds like a lovely birthday week away you have planned.

Hi LP
It's a good excuse to do a Chinese (not that I need an excuse :rotfl:)
I hope my birthday week is nice - will make a change to having to be at work and not really enjoying the day. At least I can go and see my Mum at my leisure and then get ready to go out for a nice meal in the evening.

Charity meeting went quite well. I stated some facts that I have been needing to say for a long time and it's good to clear the air - we have a lot to do this year and I need everyone on board to support the processes that need to be gone through.
A few lists done at lunchtime...
Reservation for birthday week confirmed :j
Got some shopping for SE to do on the way home and then I'm popping to see to a technophobic friend (bless) to sort out an internet purchase for her before going home.
Planned tea tonight is fish in a creamy pesto sauce with cherry tomatoes and some green thrown in (probably broccoli) plus rice. Still eating to plan!
Hope everyone is well.

That sounds quite something at the charity meeting! I remember things like that - my local professional group was always desperate for committee members, so I thought I'd better take a turn. It was a nightmare _pale_ one woman had a breakdown, another was sacked, there was a financial crisis, the lone employee was sacked  I managed a full year, but never again!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I really do enjoy a nice leisurely day with a social meal and a couple glasses of wine, I am starting to get into my red wine more and more now which was something I was never a fan of before.
Always best to clear the air, things that get put off only end up stewing and usually worse off than if they are sorted out head on.

Oh dear KC, but it can often be the way. Our numbers have been dwindling over the last few years and we are now down to 3 trustees - 2 of which are not computer literate and me...so all the paperwork falls to me and that is fine except I don't get the feedback and support in areas where they can help and that can be extremely frustrating.
Trouble is, they are my friends and I always have to say that it's business and has nothing to do with our friendship - I think it went in...but who knows how long it will stay there.
the other trouble is that if I leave then the charity will probably close and I can't have that on my head as we help alot of people and that would be a shame.lincoln-potter wrote: »

That's very true LP. When you build things up in your head and feel they are too difficult to cope with and then when you finally let it all out, it's not half as bad as what you first anticipated.
