Thanks DawnW. We passed the audit :j

No observations or non-conformances this time??? I thought they always found something to justify their time - but there you go.

All the work put in was justified.

Grocery spends were £6.59 at Herr A last night and literally just got bread, milk, courgettes and cat food to get this evening from Mr T.

We had Cottage Pie last night as it was in single portions, so DH had his before he got ready to go out. I had a quick meeting to go to while he was getting ready and I got back in time to drop him up town. I had my cottage pie and half a glass of wine when I got back from dropping him off.

Tonight is Lemon Chicken (DH purchase a few weeks ago that I put in the freezer) and Roasted Veg Cous Cous.

I like doing the roasted veg cous cous as you can use up all the bits and pieces in the fridge, I have a tired looking leek and some bendy carrots that will make their way into the oven.

Hopefully going to get off work a bit earlier today and I can get some chores done when I get home, save doing them in the morning.

Going for lunch with my oldest friend tomorrow (who is treating me for my birthday). We don't live in the same town anymore, so meetings are few and far between. Really looking forward to it.

Hope everyone has a good one.

Wow, what a lovely weekend it was weather-wise!

Went for lunch with my friend on Saturday and we sat outside eating lovely food from the med - it was a great afternoon.

Went to the garden centre yesterday and bought two large pots for my new roses that MIL bought me for my birthday. Utilised some birthday money for those, so not an expense from the bank account.

DH's birthday this week and thank god some of his presents arrived at work this morning - it just crept up on me and I was frightened I'd have nothing to give him on the day - but disaster averted.

Didn't spend very much grocery wise, but I can't remember the exact figure. I think spends equal approx £168 this month and should easily make it through the week without spending anymore.

OP therefore stands at £155 for this month - just got to wait till next Monday to make the payment.

Starting to count down towards our trip to Rome. Definately not going to skimp on spends for this trip - got money put by, so should be fine.

Dinner tonight is Salmon wrapped oin parma ham, rice and veggies.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Had Salmon last night, but not in parma ham - had it in creamy sauce instead with pasta and broccolli (as per DHs request).

DH has been put onto BP meds as of yesterday and we have got to monitor him over the next month to see how he gets on.

My friend who I had lunch with on Saturday has recommended a BP monitor, so I am going to get that for DH out of my bonus money.

We are going to the pub after work for pre-birthday drinks for DH - we won't be there long, its just so his other friends can see him and give pressies!! HM Pizzas (using square wraps from the freezer) planned for tea tonight - we will see how it goes as the pub we are going to does very nice food!

What a nutty couple of days...

DHs birthday yesterday, so went out for a meal and drinks - all budgeted for, so no worries there. Had Swordfish with creamy white wine and mushroom sauce....mmmmm

Been really busy at work, lots of carp jobs and annoying things going on, but tommorrow is Friday - and we have a Management Meeting.

Fundraiser on Saturday, but not much to do except some baking - going to start tonight after Charity meeting later, but only if DH has gone out!

Vouchers in post yesterday from Mr T to help with the shopping.

    Payday today!

    Proper catch up tomorrow.

    Hope everyone is ok.

Well, last night was a non-starter. Didn't get home till 9.40pm and then had to cook tea - so any forward planning for baking went completely out of the window!

The meeting was a nightmare too, had one person walk out (they came back later) and it was a bit strained to say the least.

Anyhoo, back to money saving - new wages, new Grocery Budget - spent approx £33 in Herr A last night. With going away over Easter, there will be less to buy over the next couple of weeks, but then I really must go to the butchers and stock up with Chicken. Still ploughing our way through the freezer though and I've got to be careful how much extra stuff I buy - won't be for a couple of weeks though.

Busy weekend ahead and today is going to be manic. So I will dign off here and hope to catch up with everyone's diaries properly on Monday.

    Have a good weekend all.

Yay! Made OP today of £155.

    Balances now stand at:

    £15158 Outstanding
    £2.78 Daily Interest Rate
    Dec 2019 Mortgage Free

Absolutely manic weekend, did not stop from the time I got home Friday evening.

Although the weather turned on us for our OUTDOOR fundraiser, we still raised £100, which considering the weather, was not bad at all.

Shopping of Friday was carefully planned to get the £5 Mr T voucher which I plan to use tonight when finishing off the shopping.

DH asked me this morning if I wanted some money to go towards the OP from his birthday money - I said no for this month - but I will get some off him for next month!

Only 3? months till our fixed rate ends and then things will start to speed up on the OP front (even though the mortgage rate is going up to 3.99% - its still alot less than we are paying now!).

Still really busy at work and really need to catch up with all your diaries. Going to see what I can get done in 10 mins - then back to it.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

  • Well done on the OP MCI!

£2.78 daily interest, that doesn't sound too bad at all.

    Thanks LP

No, its not too bad - be even better when my interst rate slides from 6.69% to 3.99%! :) - Should be less than £2! :j

Well, the countdown to Rome is continuing. Just booked the transfers from the airport to the hotel and back again and saved us 20 euros on the price of cabs! Travelling by limo (or a mercedes at least) and although not as cheap as a train ticket, there's no faffing about as its door to door.

Got a good deal on our currency and the money has come out of the joint savings account!!!

Can't wait for Friday evening as we are staying near the airport before jetting off on Saturday morning.
