  • Sounds great, let me know how you get on...

We had stuffed mushrooms (a la MCI) last night. They were delicious with pork chop, cous cous and green beans. OH has asked for two big mushrooms next time as one was not enough.

Thanks for the recipie MCI! I've made a mental note of the crab pasta too... sounds yum!

Glad you liked them...and I can recommend the crab pasta...its lovely.

Usually have them as a starter, but sound great as a side dish.

Not much to add today. Herr A shop tonight and the shopping list is REALLY small this week.

Menu plan is done and hopefully that freezer of mine is going to empty a bit.

Friday again! Yay! But what am I going to get my mother for her birthday tomorrow ??? Mother's Day is easy - flowers and card (as she doesn't really expect anything - and she has probably forgotten anyway!) Going to go down the town at lunchtime and see what I can find in the bookshop!

Very small shop at Herr A last night - Grocery Spends are now at £147.64. Literally a couple of things to get from Mr T later and we are sorted for the week! (hopefully).;)

Fridgeraiders Rissotto and Stuffed Mushrooms tonight for tea.

Wishing everyone a very good weekend.

I'm a Herr A fan too! I like the risotto and stuffed mushrooms idea. Hmmm

The risotto and stuffed mushrooms was really nice, can recommend it - padded out an almost meat free meal too.

DH was a bit upset on Saturday as the hospital have been quite dismissive about his diagnosis regarding his high BP. He got a letter on Friday calling him for an out patients appointment at the end of April and then he got a letter on Saturday saying that he had to make an appointment with his GP to get him to put him on medication - no explanation, no nothing...

Anyway, to cheer him up I took him out for something to eat on Saturday night - shouldn't have done really, but he was so down in the mouth it wouldn't have been good to stay in. It was nice, as we had a good chat about our forthcoming trip to Rome....

DH has just phoned me to say his appointment with the GP is next Monday - and he says he's going to ask for a full explanation of his results etc... before they put him on meds. Good for him...

Had a nice evening with MIL last night - we cooked dinner (DH bought all the stuff) and she provided the wine.

On MSE news, did the shopping on Friday and the grocery spends are now approx £155 and a few pence that I can't remember.

Pasta tonight, using LO chicken, mushrooms, courgette and onions. Got an emergency jar of sauce in the cupboard (Lloyd Grossman - the only jar pasta suace I will use occassionally), so going to use that.

Got my Charitiy's AGM tonight, so won't be back till about 9pm ish so food needs to be quick prep and cook - will prep the veggies before I have to leave and then dinner will be on the table within 15mins of getting home.

Wow, that was quite a long post...sorry guys.

PS and just one more thing ;-). My new online isa is up and running, but had totally forgotten that I had opened and isa bond last year and already used all my allowance. Will have to wait till 06 April to make my deposit!

DH prepared all the veggies for me last night, so it was just a case of throwing everything together when I got back.

AGM went OK, really could do with a few more people turning up, but hey ho!

Not much on the MSE front at the moment.

Lemon, Prawn & Chorizo Rice Pot on the menu tonight - prawns and chorizo from the freezer.

I really think we are still going to be eating our way through the freezer contents next month too! All good for the grocery budget - no so good for trying to defrost the bl***y thing - we will get there.

Very quick update today as we have our Quality Audit at work tomorrow and I have loads to do.

    Last nights dinner was delish!

Tonight we have posh sausage & mash with red onion and balsamic gravy.

    Nothing more to report really.

Will catch up with everyone tomorrow.

Thanks uzubairu. We work hard to get everything right for the day, but there is always something they pick up on.

Back to normal work today, while our quality manager deals with the audit - though got to be on hand for helping out if necessary.

Confirmation on the Grocery Spends before I go to Herr A tonight = £154.97; not bad.

Just got to sort my shopping list out - which I don't think will be much.

Not much else on the MSE front.

Dinner tonight will be (surprise surprise) something from the freezer. Either HM Chilli & Jacket Pots, HM Venison Casserole & Crusty Bread or HM Cottage Pie - I'll let DH decide later.
