  • Tough at work at the moment Ed. Lots to do and politics causing a stir.

Also been trying to help a friend with a financial problem - the system can be so unfair at times and I was very angry and frustrated on their behalf.

Got two freezers - fridge freezer in the spare room lol and little chest freezer under the stairs. I bought alot of things for meals and we are still getting through stuff. Plus I did have 5lb of turkey left over! We didn't indulge that much really and its nice to have nice stuff when you have the frugal months. Coming to the end now - though still some portions of turkey left lol.

As I am wide awake going to get up and prepare SC dinner of braised beef (another thing I bought before Christmas).

    Happy hump day everyone.

Are there any independent organisations or support groups who might be able to offer advice? Sure you've already considered that.

Fridge freezer in the spare room? Live the dream, not sure where future baby would sleep :rotfl:
  • Yes considered other organisations - but when you are dealing with Council Tax the Council are very strict with what they want - even if you can't afford it - it's sorted now (but still unaffordable), but there's nothing more that can be done as they will not budge!

Yeah, the fridge part is 'the drinks fridge' and the freezer is just a very handy add on. Nowhere else to put it I am afraid - would have to rethink if we were ever lucky enough to have a little one. :rotfl:

    Another fairly frugal day...

Looking forward to my slow cooked beef and DH coming home :T:heart2::kisses3:

  • Another day and it's Friday!!!!:j

£2.81 arrived from £co and moved to the house fund.

Lowest bill for a MOT in a long time £66 (from budget account).

A small revelation at work has put someone in their place and they will be hopefully slightly less annoying :rotfl:

    DH home safely!

Small shop at Herr A tonight - I am armed with my bags and ready to go!

Tea tonight will be another portion from the Christmas Turkey. This time in the form of Turkey Steaks with Citrus Sauce. 3 portions of turkey left :D

    Hope everyone is well.

  • Yay Friday :j and it's persisting down!

Nearly fell asleep last night doing the washing up  was absolutely exhausted!

Tea last night was lovely, but although it's fairly simple, it's quite long winded.

Herr A shop done £19ish (separate budget for Valentine Meal of £15 including wine - have quite a few ingredients in already).

Mr T tonight for a few items.

We decided that we aren't doing presents this Valentines, but I couldn't resist some tea cakes and crumpets that I will cut out with a heart cutter in the morning!

Tonight's tea is using up bits and pieces. Fish (bit of haddock and bit of pollock) plus LO pasta sauce I made in the week with LO chickpeas and chorizo served with cous cous.

    Happy Friday folks.

  • Just done the spending diary update.

Groceries stand at £156.49 including £13.87 for stuff for Valentine's Meal.

DH has just gone to Mr W to fetch some breakfast supplies as he said that we should have a nice breakfast in the morning (not included in budget - coming out of his pocket...hehe).

    Menu for tomorrow is:

HM Crab Cakes with Dipping Sauces
HM Chicken Wrapped in Parma Ham and Sage, Roasted Vine Tomatoes and Mini Baked Potatoes with Herb Dressing
HM Chocolate Fondants with Berries and Cream

Delish (I hope) can't wait. Feels like ages since I cooked a 3 course meal just for us.

In case I don't get on here tomorrow; can I wish everyone a lovely Valentines Day.

Thanks Goldie - it was lovely.

Made a few too many crab cakes so we are having some as a snack later today.
