  • Happy Friday.

Still no money news (not money coming in anyway).

Will be doing the spending diary tomorrow - I think I'm going to be £10ish over the food budget, but under budget overall so there should be some extra deposits going on next week when I get paid.

Turkey Stir Fry last night and Seafood Paella tonight - still eating to plan (at least that's one thing!)

    Happy Weekend all.

  • I wish I could say its a Sunny Sunday - but at least its Sunday!

£8ish over the grocery budget! Few items bought out of next months budget as I had coupons to use that were going to expire.

Housework, charity paperwork done yesterday. Also decluttered a couple of drawers in the coffee table - it doesn't look like I've done anything - but there was a bag of rubbish that went in the recycling and now the drawers have room to put useful things!

Pick and mix tea for dinner last night - using up most of the frozen treats we had left from Christmas - it was nice and minimal washing up! Tonight we are having dinner at the MILs as usual.

Off to my mums in a bit to do some plastering and some more decluttering.

Hope everyone's weekend is going well and if you are celebrating Burns Night tonight - I hope you have a great time addressing (and eating) the haggis.

It's a grey old day here as well MCI, at least you're keeping busy. I'm sitting here feeling like a zombie after one night of toddler sitting :rotfl:

Looking forward to haggis, neeps and tatties this evening and I will be putting paid to the couple of whisky miniatures said toddlers Mum brought round to say thanks :)
  • Oh dear Ed! Toddlers can have the at effect! lol

  • More decluttering done at mums and a mattress ordered for my brother.

I went to put some bedclothes on his bed and found that his mattress was full of holes - big ones! This mattress was the original one that came with the bed and I had it before my brother. He had pillows stuffed in the holes! Unreal! He said he didn't want to cause trouble! No wonder he's not sleeping properly!!!

I got on his laptop and ordered a single mattress for delivery on Tuesday for £95 (in the sale) - done and dusted. Will just have to go to mums tomorrow to help him get it up the stairs and the old one down and outside.

It's occurred to me that with mums decorating and the mattress, I have not spent any money to speak of of my bonus on me yet!! I really must do that before it alls gets swallowed up by the needs of others.

Tonight's tea is HM Beef Egg Fried Rice (using LO Brisket from last week that I put in the freezer). Charity meeting later, so will be cooking the rice before I go and it will be ready to throw together when I get home.

Pay day this week - yay!

  • Frustrating Charity meeting - but trying to let things wash over me this week as I've got alot on and I am determined to limit my stress.

Payslip received. 2 days till payday.

In the process of making my shopping list for this week - rest of the big shop to do on Thurs/Friday.

Fish & Cous Cous for tea tonight.

    Hope everyone is well.

I have honestly never heard of anyone with holes in a mattress

Your beef egg fried rice sounded delicious, was it from a recipe, or your head?

New mattress installed on brother's bed! I couldn't believe the state of it when I saw it! Old mattress is outside now with the rest of the rubbish. Another job done.

The beef egg fried rice is of my own design :)

I usually use any bits of veg I've got in the fridge. Cook the eggs with a bit of five spice and put to one side. Chuck in the veg, plus garlic and ginger (if I've got it) and stir fry for a couple of minutes, add cooked rice (with turmeric added), stirfy till hot, chuck in the shredded meat and stirfry till hot and mixed in then fold in the cooked eggs. I usually add Egg Fried Rice Sauce (which is a mix of dark soy sauce, ginger, garlic, five spice etc... it's great stuff purchased from the Chinese Supermarket) and some sweet chilli sauce.

Really great filling meal that uses up leftovers extremely well.

    Happy Hump Day everyone!

One day to pay day (not counting really!) Can't wait to do the money shuffle - this financial month has been sooooo loooong!

Continuing to make my shopping list for when I get paid. Have a £4 off £30 shop at Mr T and I have a voucher from my last shop there for £4.20 - nice!

Fish was lovely last night - did it with a tomato, lemon and caper sauce - delish.

Tonight we have duck legs for dinner - going to serve them like a roast dinner with roast potatoes, sweet potatoes and the veg I have left in the fridge PLUS redcurrant jelly left from Christmas to use up - yum yum.

Need to get organised for the weekend as it's my cousin's 50th birthday party on Saturday afternoon/evening, so will be getting some of the housework done early to get ahead.
