I quite fancy some chicken, it has been ages since we had any.

I made salmon katsu last night, it was delicious and has made me fancy making up some bento style lunches for a picnic :)

Did you feel any better in the end?

Unfortunately not, left work at just after 3pm - in bed for 4pm. Cat sitting on my head wanting food at 6.27pm :rotfl:

Seriously, feel a bit better now.

DH cooked last night, so the chicken is still in the fridge which we will either have tonight or I'll shred and put in the freezer.

DH cooked steak pie and veggies - just the comfort food I needed last night. He also went and did the shopping at Herr A for me and watered the allotment. I know how lucky I am.

Not much else to report, can't wait to finish here today.

    Happy Friday everyone.

DH will be cooking tonight's tea of Roast Chicken and all the trimmings (from the mealplan) - cutting down on the carbs by having half sweet potato roasties and half normal.

Oooh, there's a thought, I love sweet potato MCI have done them all sorts of ways but never thought of roasting - doh - do you do anything special with them or just treat as normal roast spuds?

    Regards

Hi ATT - Nice to see you!

Yeah just treat them like normal. Don't think they take as long to cook if you par boil them first.

    Phew, what a weekend!

Went out my our friends' new pub on Friday (I am still off the wine so I drove and orange juice & lemonade for me).

Saturday had a couple of appointments - DH took me out for lunch and got a few chores done.

Sunday cleaned the house, 3 loads of washing done and prepared for BBQ. MIL came up to us for a change and we had the neighbours round for pre-match food. Discovered some sparkling grape juice at the shop which was just the ticket in the social situation (even though the MIL was taunting me with wine).

Watched the match - Germany were worthy winners and I am still £20 better off.

    Went to bed knackered.

MIL has tried to introduce mummy cat to her cat - lots of chasing and fighting and her cat has retired to underneath the dresser and won't come out! Not sure what we are going to do, she's a lively one!

Found 50p on the floor, so that went into penguin pot. Had BBQ leftovers for lunch (chicken salad with HM guacamole and Greek Dip) and making a chicken & mushroom risotto with the remaining chicken tonight!

Charity Meeting later (now that the world cup is over)...will have to see if anything constructive comes out of that.

Loads to do at work before we break up on the 25th, so better get on with it.

Ordered some feliway for the cats - lets hope it calms them down a bit!

Risotto was a hit (spicy chicken really added to the flavour).

Still haven't been down the town to pay my expenses cheque in - maybe tomorrow if everyone doesn't disappear at lunchtime again!

Charity meeting was like pulling teeth!

Trip up the allotment overdue - definitely going up tonight (my friend has been watering for me).

Lemon rubbed salmon with tarragon, rice and veggies for tonight's tea.
