  • Well, I am day two into my holiday and I have already been pretty productive - but have absolutely no idea whether I will get everything done this week that I want to.

Yesterday I sorted out all my clothes. 3 bags to go to the charity shop and 1 to the rag collection point at the tip. All the summer clothes have been put away now and all drawers sorted out neatly.

I was saving all my old clothes for when our charity opened a charity shop (had a chance last year, but couldn't get the funding!), but I have decided that I can no longer wait and needed to have a clear out.

I know I could cash the clothes in or ebay etc... but our local hospice is a very deserving cause (especially as they looked after my granddad) - DH is going to sort out his clothes tonight and I know Mum has got some things of Dad's, so will make a trip tomorrow.

I also 90% decluttered our bedroom - it does look bare. But it will give me a chance to dress it how I want to.

Also yesterday I ticked off: doctors appointment, a phone call I had been putting off for ages, shopped for the remains of the Christmas hamper in our raffle, cake boards for my mini Christmas cakes for fundraising, text my friend to go out Thurs/Fri night for drinks for her birthday...

Today is paperwork day and I may be doing an afternoon of charity driving (or it may be tomorrow). Must also get waterproofing spray and printable labels later on.

So far I have: designed poster for Christmas Arts & crafts (12 copies printed), printed 200 leaflets for same event, taken my meter readings for gas and electric and submitted to new supplier (need to do it for old too, but their online service is not working at the moment).

Just thought I'd pop on to update and assure myself that I am getting stuff done - relaxing its not, but a change is as good as a rest as they say. I must admit I was really pleased with myself after doing the bedroom yesterday, so a fruitful day to be proud of I think.

  • Hi MCI, happy holidays.

I'm off for a couple of days too and it sounds like we are both up to the same tasks re cleaning/de-cluttering etc although must admit my tasks do not contain artwork:D

I think I said I'd share a lemon posset recipe with you, sorry for the delay, I've not been around for ages again...

    2 large lemons
    600ml double cream
    150g white caster sugar
    4 gelatine leaves e.g Dr 0etker
    150ml whole milk
6 small pudding moulds or you could serve with mini-meringues (I don't, I like it by itself in pots)

Remove the lemon zest in thick strips using a potato peeler and reserve. Juice the lemons. Place the lemon zest in a medium pan with the cream and sugar. Bring gently to the boil, then simmer over a very gentle heat for 1-2 minutes watching constantly to ensure it doesn't boil over

At the same time, cut the gelatine into strips, place in a medium bowl, cover with cold water, leave to soak for 5 minutes then drain. Add this to the cream and stir to dissolve then stir in the juice from the lemons. Set aside for 15 minutes. Strain through a sieve into a large bowl and stir in the milk

Use a ladle or jug to fill the moulds and leave to cool completely, then chill overnight

    Enjoy :p

    Regards

  • A very quick update. Been really busy with paperwork the last couple of days; only trouble is, it looks like you haven't done anything!

Feeling like I've bitten off more than I can chew this holiday - but have been thinking how I can re-prioritise and get the most important things done and at least make it look like I've done something this holiday.

Clothes have been taken down the charity shop and I have 3 bags for the tip clothing bank - I will go later.

Posters and leaflets distributed for now.

Had planned a busy morning - however, I have just remembered I've got a dentist appointment which will put me back about an hour after I have gone and come back.

Must pop to Herr A today and get the shopping - including stuff for mum.

DH has a cold - first proper one he's had in years - and he is sorry for himself; but he's not one to have 'man-flu' so as he was up early through having a blocked nose - he's got ready and gone to work early.

Better get my skates on if I'm going to get everything done I've planned today.

Don't think I'm going to have a lot of time for catching up with diaries this week - so I'll have a little light reading next week lol.

  • Hi everyone

Back from week off...glad to be back at work to have a sit down and an actual lunch hour :-)

Got alot achieved last week, but no where near as much as I wanted to get done - this is what happens though isn't it?

Fundraiser went well on Saturday and we raised a fair bit (haven't got final figure yet). Now onto the next one this Saturday.

No real money news except I need to count 50ps and its payday Thursday.

Tonight's tea is pot luck for me and DH is going out with his work colleagues.

    Hope everyone is well.
