Going to do a complete list update once a week to keep me focused. Will be using my diary entries to remind me of stuff to cross off and things to add on!

All jobs done last night and off to IKEA tonight.

DH has given me the £90 that his nephew had given him a few weeks ago (finally been to the bank) and I need to go to the bank and pay in - what with mum's electric bill and transfers to the house fund its looking quite depleated - good job everyone has given me the money back.

The window fitter is coming to measure up at Mum's this afternoon, so hoping she will have the windows in by the end of the month.

Tonight's tea will be chicken stirfy (found some lemon sauce in the cupboard when tidying up at the weekend).

    Hope everyone is well.

IKEA didn't have everything I wanted; so got to pop back in a couple of days to see if they have more stock of the small boxes (fortunately only 10 mins from work and almost on my way home).

No real MSE news - should I wait until M&S Energy release their new fix? or fix now with NPower?

Pulled Pork should be clicking on in the slow cooker in the next hour. This will make two meals. Loving the slow cooker at the moment - its great to get home and the hard work has been done for you; just veggies and potatoes to do.

Feeling a bit blue as a friend of mine is feeling depressed at the moment. She lost her Dad two years ago to cancer and its coming up to the anniversary - she's not talking about it, but I know that's what's upsetting her. Just keep sending ((hugs)) via text to let her know I'm thinking about her.

Care to share the recipe MCI?

Loving the lists, good for keeping you right :)

Are all the birthdays relatives, or a mix or relatives and friends?

    Hi Ed

Recipe is dead easy - got it off one of the forums on here, but can't remember where from; so adapted for two VERY hungry people or to make two meals.

750g Mini Pork Shoulder (I have mine from Mr T)
    1/2 tsp fennel seeds
    1/2 tsp sea salt
    1/2 tsp ground coriander
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp paprika
    pinch chilli flakes to taste
    2-3 onions sliced

Place the onions in the bottom of the crock pot. Grind spices together in a pestle and morter and rub into the meat and fat of the pork.

Put pork ontop of the onions. Cook on low for 4-5 hours. Remove fat and shred meat into the juice with a fork.

I serve this as a roast dinner and use leftovers for fajitas or egg fried rice.

    Enjoy.
    ___________

Birthdays are a mix of relatives and friends - its mad the way that there are multiple birthdays on one day. My cousin's triplets (of course are all on the same day) on 05 Nov; my MIL and 2 of my best friends are on 02 Nov; my best friend from school and my niece on 23 Nov; my best friends son and my nephew 09 Nov...the list goes on. Also got one of my best friends' 65th birthday on 19 Dec.

  • Cat is missing - been gone over 24 hours now...I am depressed - not going to give up hope; the longest she went missing for was 25 days...still worry though.

I actually have some MSE news today.

I have fixed my gas and electric!!!! After the news on the 8.2% rise this morning I checked to see if the new fix had arrived and it had - £80 more than my quote from the cheap energy club..so have gone ahead with Mr N Power. £30 cashback and a free night in a hotel thrown in...sweet!

Onion and Shallot sets arrived in the post today along with my purple wight garlic for planting. Saturday should be dry, so going to plant as many as I can then (hope I've got enough room in the allotment as I haven't starting digging the other side yet!) Got some more kale to put in too.

I contacted Miss H&M yesterday to do with my order as it was dispatched 24 Sept and hasn't come. They are refunding me and posting me a £5 voucher. I will then re-order and see if I can get a discount code too.

Popping to see Mum later and see if she has decided about fixing the electric - I hope so, I don't want her in fuel poverty.

Not sure what tonight's dinner will be - something from the freezer probably.

If DH goes out, I am going to be peeling a mountain of apples.

Thank you very much for sharing the recipe. The supermarket beginning with M have 1/2 price pork shoulder at the moment, I know what I'm making at the weekend!

I hope the cat shows up soon. Mrs E's cat went missing for 2 nights and we were both wrecks. He eventually woke me up meowling at 3 in the morning. Now this is a cat who does not let you pick him up... I was able to carry him up to the flat like he was a baby :) Positive thoughts, the cat will come back.

How long is your energy fix for? Ours expires in 5 months and I am giving some thought to looking around. That said, there are penalties for leaving the fix, will need to see how much.
