old style daily 01 march 2011

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 1st March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

`Morning everyone.

Set to have another lovely day here so am working outdoors, sowing seeds. I made a makeshift greenhouse last year. Took the bendy poles from an old two man dome tent, nailed them to a plank frame and covered the lot with an old white heavy duty plastic tarpaulin. Not a work of art but last year I grew toms in it and salad veg, so will sow some more salad veg and early flower seeds in it today.
Can also catch up with the rest of my laundry and get it dried outdoors, much nicer than in.

Good morning Halight, Reddoe and all to follow,
Grey and damp here so no washing on the line today.
Dinner tonight will be spag bol - unless I've got the oomph to make lasagne. Will see how I feel when I get in from work.
I was going to start having a blitz on all the clutter this week - think I'll start it next week. I am working full-time this week so I can't see any major blitzing in the offing. Maybe a little minor blitzing.
Had dinner with DD1, DSIL & the DGSs yesterday and the plan is they will join us for the spag bol tonight and we are thinking about eating together tomorrow as well
I don't usually see them on work days so that is a lovely bonus
Right, off to shower and get ready, hugs for those that need or want them,

DW unloaded & realoaded, fish fed, breakfast eaten, hubby dropped at the station with his packup & my packup, egg & cress sarnies again (is is possible to OD on cress?). I must persuade hubby to plant less next time. Sausage & mash for tea tonight & I have some cooked potatoes in the fridge so I only need to cook the sausages tonight & make the onion gravy.
Off to work soon, deep joy but needs must, it pays the bills.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Nic1Lou2 :bdaycake:Happy Birthday have a great day xx
Very cold here today, woke up in the night several times feeling cold, and I have woken with a stiff neck, so must have slept funny.
Off to work today, soooo busy the days fly by, so will have a quick swish and swipe round this morning. Dinner tonight will be fahitas, got some peppers in the freezer from last year to use up.
Mum and dad are doing ok, the change in my dad with him coming home is remarkable, he is walking really well and getting himself up and out of the chair, which is great, I know he will never be like he used to be, but any improvement is great, mum has a lot more help, she had a lady visit yesterday to access them, hope fully they will start asap.
OK better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Good Morning everyone .White rabbits ,Pinch punch first of the month and all that old rubbish.I wonder do children still do that anymore in our 21st century.
School run this morning then my friend should be here about 9.30. for a visit for a few days.we will be hopefully decorating my spare room so that will keep us both busy for a couple of days .I am going to put a lamb casserole on in my SC in a minute to cook all day for dinner tonight. So delicious smells will be wafting around my house later on .Hope everyone has a good day
take care

Happy St Davids Day!
I still feel like I ought to dress up as a Welsh Lady. I loved doing that as a child.
Am awaiting my e-mail to find out what High School my dd has got.
It's horrible.
I feel ill. So does DD.

Morning all
Dry and overcast here, not sure about the temperature as haven't ventured out yet. Yesterday we had spells of rain but it's turned really ice cold, so hoping there's no more white stuff on the way.
DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Boys were fed by MIL last night before DH collected them, so DH and I had dinner on our own, had gammom steaks, egg, onion and chive sauce, mash and veg - really lovely, we haven't had that for ages so we both really enjoyed it. We then used up the Christmas pudding and brandy sauce that was left from Xmas, I always have these but no-one ever eats it on Xmas Day so it's a nice treat in the cold January/February winter months. Tonight will be quick dinner as DS1 had Cadets.
Work yesterday was a real mad Monday - we were really busy and customers were still coming in at 4.55pm expecting to be seen with complex enquiries when we close at 5.00pm! Hopefully today will be a little less frantic.
Was a naughty girl and didn't clean up the kitchen last night so had the delight of coming down this morning to a kitchen full of dirty pots and plates - I don't know why I didn't clean up, but will be trying not to make a habit of it as it's horrible having to clean up before you can make a start IYKWIM!
Leg is aching again this morning, but it wasn't too bad yesterday but then really ached by the end of the day. So will be taking it steady.
Need to go and get ready for work.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Happy St David's day

Happy birthday nic1lou2 I hope you have a fantastic day
Well the WM is well and truly cream crackered, Oh well it has lasted me 9 years. So it looks like we are going shopping today, seen a nice one in Joe Graham's in Luton and I am looking at getting a bigger drum this time or maybe thinking of a top loader or even a twin tub - yes girls they are back - I always thought they did a better wash than the automatic ones.
Either way it's gonna take a chunk of our meagre savings
Dinner is Low Carb Shepherds pie
Have good days all xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
