Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be) ~ if there are loads of 'SNAPSHOT' pages then leave them out
If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download
(If no log comes up or you lose it, COMBOFIX.TXT can be found in C drive)

Its not letting me download it as I have AVG installed, but it wont let me delete it I went to control panel and to remove but it just keeps coing up failed. Is there any way to remove it so I can run combifix?


This is the message it is giving when I try to delete it - Installer initialization failed due to following error:

You didnt have to uninstall it (you did mean uninstall and not delete yes?)

You just need to switch off AVGs scanner

Oh ok, yes I was trying to delete it. I will do that when I get home from work and post the log up here.

You should ***ALWAYS*** uninstall programs

You only delete single files (like Mp3s, pictures etc)

I hope youve not broken it

Sorry I should have sayed uninstalled and not delete. I hadnt had my cup of tea this morning when I posted



EDIT - sorry being silly but where do I disable the scanner about?

I have tried following the instructions to disable the email scanner but it wont let me open/start up AVG? I keep double clicking the AVG symbol but nothingis happening.

Use the 32 bit AVG removal tool
http://www.avg.com/download-tools

Then run combofix

(you must now realise you dont have an actual antivirus program running)
