Fell into bed exhausted so no pampering :(

    Nearly used up:
Did manage to use some Clinique thirst moisturiser stuff - overall my face isn't too keen. Gels can have that effect. But I'll use it in my neck and chest area. WBA - well this was a freebie in a GWP, but no. Shame I picked up 2 with the Glamour mags! But still handy for my neck area.

Ultrabrite toothpaste - wiba - yes. It was ultra cheap think about 75p/99p in Wilkinsons. Notice that Colgate make it. It's ok stuff.

Off to have a pampering shower soon:
Hair mask, L'occitane milk soap and a nap...

I'm very very tempted to get some S&G goodies tomorrow as they're still on 3-4-2. I'd never even looked at their stuff before this thread, and I've now been converted to the Hand food, shampoo and conditioner. I really want to try the breakfast scrub, shower gel and body butter too. Hmm...

I opened the breakfast scrub yesterday and it is lovely. I'd recommend this and my fave S&G body butters are from their Spa range. Haven't tried their shower gels yet but have one in stash ready. Can anyone tell me what Clean on Me smells like?

Vicster your nails are gorgeous. I've repainted mine this morning and used OPI Grand Canyon Sunset.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

My DD has great nails and doesn't have to do anything to them, often has to cut them as they get too long  she has inherited them from her Nanna who also has really good nails, whereas my side of the family have really bad nails I only have to look at my nails and they break, no matter what I do to them and how much I spend on them :(

  • I thought I would post on this thread as I have finally reached a milestone!

A few years ago I posted this on the thread "Using things up vs declutter" in May 2007:

I wonder if anyone can beat this?!

In September 2001 Herbal Essences had a promotion (I think in Boots) of buy one get one free? (or something along those lines). Anyway, being a sucker I bought about 6 shampoos and conditioners. Then I got home.

Actually looking at all the toiletries I had (a lot of gifts and half-used impulse buys) made me realise that I had to start using them up first. So that is exactly what I did. Coupled with this the fact that a few years ago my job entailed me staying in hotels regularly (lots more free toiletries!) means that I STILL haven't bought any since that heady day when I over indulged in Herbal Essences.

Looking at my fast dwindling stock pile, I think I am due to run out sometime before christmas!

p.s. I must also add that I use a very tiny amount of product (using a puff really makes the shower gel last), including shampoo and conditioner. I find my hair actually benefits from this. I have thick, middle-of-my-back length hair, so if I can be frugal with the quantities, anyone can!

Well, I am FINALLY on my last shampoo (although have quite a few bath/shower products still to go)! So the prediction of using them up by Christmas was a bit off...

Since posting that, I still haven't bought anything, but have been given lots of toiletries as gifts and friends have off loaded their hotel finds and freebies on to me as they know I use them!!! My 'problem' is, is that I don't like waste and I can't say no to free things! This even applies to shampoo that isn't great quality (actually, quite rubbish), that male friends won't even use because it doesn't do anything for their hair, but I'll still use it!

I'm not sure how long my final shampoo will last as it is a Lush solid shampoo bar (which I will be buying again as it leaves my hair in great condition, is economical and is more ethical due to its lack of packaging. But I am really starting to crave choosing my own toiletries now!
