I know, it literally is enough to last me years... and yet I bet I'll be back on the naughty step before too long... At least I can feel less guilty about using up the nice stuff as per the PRCP - after all, I have so much more after! Lots of them I've not tried at all yet, so I'm hoping there might be some HG products amongst them - I struggle to find things that wow me.

It is crammed into my bathroom, all shelves and surfaces are pretty full, and I have a cupboard under the sink that is bursting at the seams with those stackable box/carton things. I have to say, it does make me feel a bit claustrophobic, I only have a small studio flat!

I have to say I'm slightly surprised by the reaction to my stash - having read some of yours I was impressed and thought that in comparison perhaps mine wasn't *quite* so bad... I'm starting to think I'm still slightly in denial, or possibly not seeing the wood for the trees (or bottles!) Or maybe the shock is still sinking in :rotfl:

PS - I have a confession - No, no ins yet! - I know I have at least another drawful of stuff :eek:at my parents that isn't on my list as I can't remember what's there. I'll make a note next time I'm back and add it on...

Hope you are all having a lovely sunny day and enjoy the pancakes later on!! Maybe my challenge for lent should be part of my giving up toiletries buying!

    xxx

No buying toiletries for lent - fantastic idea.

I took photos last month or maybe January. Once I've finished catching up here, I might go and see if I can find the post and I'll put up a linky!
ETA: Linky.... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=40165028&postcount=955 Now bear in mind that I have been on this challenge since it began in Jan 2011. I haven't bought shampoo since August 2008 and I recently bought my fist conditioner since then too.

You've just reminded me - it must be coming up for a year since I've bought shampoo or conditioner as well - along with many others on the thread I gave up buying toiletries for lent last year, then blew it when that fabulous Tesco haircare glitch came along!:rotfl:

I had a carrier bag full of shower gels given to me by MiL in Aug 08 which were 10p. There's a reason for that! My bathroom and all my floors were clean for aaaaaaggggees!
DH never uses his little aftershaves so I use them as room fragrances on cotton wool balls. It uses them up!

Congratulations, comiserations, whoops, boos and happy birthdays available. Deal them out amongst yourselves please.
All of you on the naughty step, are you done yet? I wanna be able to get up to bed without breaking my neck in the morning!
I'm afraid I can't join tomorrow nights session 'cause I'm at w*rk again. I may catch up on Wednesday. Unless it's face mask 'cause I haven't got any. I did the full shave last night as I was starting to resemble a yeti! Toes to be done on Wednesday night before I start the ironing.

Is that shaving them, or painting them?! ;)

mmmmm, yummy! I tend not to be able to follow the story line due to perving though!

    Errrrrm, what else?
Oh yes! Celebrate, I suspect Professor Plum in the kitchen with the rope. Am I right?

And FINALLY, because I'm feeling naughty....
Two elderly hippies are sitting in the sun smoking some we ed. One turns to the other and says
"Have you ever been picked up by the fuzz?"
The other looks into the sky, deep in thought and replies
"No. But I've been swung round by the t1ts!

Now read that at work without sniggering at your screens :D:D:D

LOVE that joke! I'm SO stealing that one! :D

My Olay face wash from a Skinny voucher yeeeeears ago is finally cut open and one more go should do it.

Did I see something about a pyjama party - ooh, it's pancakes tonight though isn't it? Not sure what to put in mine?

Was that the year of the skinnies when we were all buying Olay and Regenerist facewashes for pennies with the vouchers, then getting another voucher as we'd spent over £5, and repeating the whole thing again? I've still got one of those in my stash!

    2 UU's for me today -

The Pearl Drops Toothpolish spluttered its last - WIBA? - yes, so long as I can find it in the 99p store! Have now gone onto an Arm & Hammer one though - I like those and they are always in Poundland and similar.

Avon Cashmere Finish foundation - WIBA? - definitely - this is my HG foundation and I have two more already waiting to go as I bought them when they were silly cheap (£3 each to me) on promotion a few weeks ago. Lovely texture, applies well, easy to blend and stays put.

no celebrate you are not the only one with these urges to but things you don't need or really want that much. I was nearly driven to distraction recently by the boots no7 £5 vouchers, then they brought them out again straight after. I think I got it out of my system the first time round but I was hiding things (something I have never done before) and finding excuses to go to the shops on my own. Keep off the grabbit board and don't take lots of cash or any credit cards out with you.

bev97-i saw the free listing on ebay posted on the grabbit board, problem is although i have bought stuff from ebay i have never sold anything on there..not sure how it all works... just need to be bold and make the first step, but don't they charge alot if you list something at a higher price-i'm just worried if i post everything for 99p some things might actually sell for 99p! and i will lose money.

There is that risk -and that is why I wait for free listing days. I tried to sell some decleor serum but I knew I wasn't prepared to start it on a low bid. I know from looking at the completed listings section that the item does sell for around the price I want, so I will keep listing it for the next 6 months on the free listing if I have to! It was I think 43p to list otherwise.

Oh fogot to say, pop into my local lloyds.......BIG OOPS thats about 20yards from where i live just before i got home (to console myself... SORRY ANOTHER BIG OOPS!)-not been there again since start of sale SA was a right stroppy so and so, they had 3 oil of olay in the promotion for 3.99, anyway i took them to the till, stood there arguing with myself in my head again (bought 3 on friday in the sheffield lloyds) and then walked back and put them back on the shelf. The SA must have thought i had totally lost the plot. Please don't report me to the GMC for temporary toiletries insanity . LOL!

LOL! I have just done this in WHsmith with the Glomour mag. First time I have seen it so far and I thought well it must be good if it is flying off the shelves. So after going through about a dozen copies I picked up the Dramatically Different Moisturising lotion and the Long last glosswear SPF15 and queued up. Then I just thought WHAT AM I DOING? I then put them back on the shelves. I was so surprised at myself I had to go and have sit down and a cuppa in M&S cafe! No way would I have done that before this thread!

Going to sort out my hair masks and face masks now for tonight's pamper party before I pick the kids up from school!

Oh go on then, didn't need much arm twisting did I! Don't blame me if this post gets removed then..

So this friend - real story - is in the GP waiting room, waiting to have her annual smear. She needs the loo but there is no loo roll left in there so she pulls a bit out of the depths of her bag (we've all done this right?)

After doing the deed, the male GP goes from the patient to the bin and puts something in it and then tells her it's finished and hurries from the room rather embarrased.

The friend is a bit bemused at this. She goes to the bin and there in it is a STAMP - must have been caught up in that bit of loo roll she pulled from the bottom of her bag and you can guess the rest:rotfl::rotfl:!! :rotfl:
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!
  • *spits tea all over computer at juliebunny's story* I know it's utterly mortifying and I would probably have died of shame if that had happened to me, but :rotfl:

@celebrate Do you go shopping every day? You mentioned living near the shops. if you are city based it's almost impossible to avoid shopping

Oh I agree - the really good potential job I mentioned on my earlier post is right off Oxford Street, and I know I'm going to have issues being restrained enough to just window shop. I might just have to become a strange recluse who never leaves the office...
