you can i do but thay maybe a little bit runny for your hands.0 -
-FCUK Signature Body Butter. WBA, its lovely. It smells divine, is very moisturising without being greasy. And it actually looks like real butter!!
I love this - much better than S&G, leaves my skin really soft. I have 2 tubs but first working my way through other butters first, although thinking along the lines of pink candle I should be using it.
I have 1 UU - a Primark mango body butter. I got 2 butters (lemon & mango) for 25p last year and thought they were pretty good, especially at that price! :TLife is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0 -
A couple of UU:
Avon Naturals Honey and Lemon Body Lotion: WIBA? Probably not, it was better than the Aloe and Tangerine but it still felt sticky
Raspberry Shower Gel! AT LAST!!! WIBA? Well it certainly was MSE- me and OH were using it everyday as shower gel and shampoo and it lasted 6 months! However, I don't like the smell of raspberry, so no :P0 -
Aww that foal looks such a sweetie :happyhear
When's the next MSE nail polish day??
IN - my Avon order came today. Set of Soft & Sensual shower gel, dry oil spray, hand cream and body lotion. Trouble is - when I cleared out the bathroom drawers on Friday, I found two full bottles of the shower gel that I'd forgotten about!
Second that re: the foal.
I'm painting my nails tonight. Think I'll use my OPI Don't Melbourne the Toast as there's not much in it and I should be able to finish it soon.
Wondering if any of you Avon ladies can help. My Tommy Girl body lotion is spluttering. I still have shower gel and fragrance left. Anyone know of an Avon one that smells similar to this?Dr_Roberto wrote: »I should have a few uu by the end of the week , question can i use body lotion as hand cream ? I reckon that it's been a myth that you can't use body lotion as hand cream because I have Elemis and Molten Brown ones that are "hand and body lotions". If I had my own desk at work I'd take along one of my pump action lotions rather than buying a separate handcream for my handbag but it's just not practical to carry a pump around with you is it?Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

It was a bit like this for me too, we weren't allowed to use the sink in the bathroom, everything had to be done in the kitchen, a bath once a week, no shower, and we didn't have bubble bath, we used fairy liquid, all my friends used to have a bottle of matey on the bath and I was so jealous. Hardly had any clothes, lots were homemade, never owned a dress till I could afford my own stuff. We weren't poor either, Mum just like the idea that we were. To this day she can't see what an impact it had on me and my sister, funnily enough we both left home in our teens.
I try and make myself think that it was better to be like that but it wasn't was it?
Simpler, greener - maybe - but not better. Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -

You may have to try a softer brush. I have a few and my favourite is from the pound shop, the scratchiest, a Sanctuary one (Go figure!)
You need to only brush upwards - or towards the heart- , not downwards away from the heart
Some other advice on oedema which you probably know but is worth repeating (given as a fellow sufferer, not a medical expert).
Don't wear tight socks - this is something I'm guilty of.
Limit your intake of salty foods (see above)
Raise your feet during the evenings if you can (I have a riser-recliner).
Raise them in bed too - use a wedge pillow. I bought an adjustable bed and it's brilliant, but it wasn't cheap.
Try support tights and compression socks and see how you get on with them.
Drink plenty of fluids.
Any exercise that involves moving your legs is brilliant. I used to swim and a puffy ankle would reduce like magic in the water. I also had to get out to go for a wee though.
These days I cycle, which is really good for it as well.
Tea tree oil seems to be helpful too, rubbed in. Any scratch on swollen skin is slow to heal and tea tree is good for this.
thank you so much for this, at the moment i get no advice because my doctor puts it down to the catch all weight issue. What worries me is that one is significantly worse than the other, and it only started happening when i sprained (query broke) my feet a few years ago.
Strangely enough the brush i have is the Sanctuary one so i shall keep my eyes open for a pound shop one next time i'm in town.
I shall have a go at your list of advice, i do drink lots of fluids but i'm also guilty of having a sit down and barely move during the day job.
once again thank you so much for the information.0 -

I'm using conditioner as fabric softener. Others are using shampoo as household cleaner. I think you should be fine :rotfl:Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Even sitting down - you can do exercises like raising leg and rotating your foot first one way several times, and then the other way: point and flex your foot a few times: or bring feet onto toes then flat onto floor.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
Just catching up after the weekend, wow, it's been a busy one on this board! I'm still several pages behind...
Hello and welcome to the (many!) newbies.
A few confessions to make, but I'll just start with the mag...
Got back to London on Friday eve - saw some Glamour mags with mascara in the airport, but I left them, as I didn't want the mascara. Then failed to find another copy of Glamour anywhere, all weekend! That is until I went back to a different airport on Sunday to leave, and found a WHSmith with loads! Bought 4 copies, all the DD lotion. Kept one copy for the plane, and all the lotions, and gave away the other mags to random women wandering around as something for their flight, who looked very pleased
Didn't find any eyecreams though, which was the other HG product, so bought an "All about eyes rich" in the duty free shop... To be fair, my original All About Eyes is disappearing fast, and isn't quite rich enough, but the Rich version is sometimes a little too heavy... I like them both better than any other eyecream I've tried, so I'll be using the Rich version at night-time for a while, and the normal version in the morning. That should hopefully work well
EssexHebridean wrote: »Becky something in your post really resonated with me. When I first joined the challenge at the beginning, I was in a well paid job, affording to buy stuff wasn't in real terms a problem and I know I was lucky to be in that situation. Since then my circumstances have changed dramatically - and faced with a two-thirds drop in income, and still wanting to maintain our mortgage overpayment, I have been truly grateful for a) my stash, and b) the insight that this thread has given me in terms of the products I really like and feel are worth paying "that little bit extra" for. However, one thing which jumps out at me stems from the Glamour magazines that so many of us have ended up on the naughty-step as a result of this week - the four little items I bought feel like SUCH complete treats, and I value those little £2 items so much more highly than I would have done a year ago. Because I now have so little money to spare for myself, buying the odd "small" thing like that is now a treat, whereas a year ago it would simply have been an incidental purchase.
Totally agree - I buy so much less now, and although I do still buy stuff, and it's often not that cheap, I value it so much more - any time I do get something new it feels like so much more of a treat now, and so much more exciting and rewarding. Previously, I'd almost buy things without thought, or just because I could. I'd easily have picked up a few magazines, and thought nothing about it. But now finding a Glamour mag with what I wanted was such a treat, and very satisfying
Well done on the overpayments! :T
Dr_Roberto wrote: »I think that's all , prob a few more random bits but yeah I gotta get using this up , is it just me or do you find eye-shadow difficult to finish ?
I find eyeshadow difficult to finish, or even make a dent in :rotfl: I've got quite a few eyeshadows which are really old, and still going. A lot I just don't use that often, and when you think about it, you don't need very much to get the intended effect, so they should last a while anyway.
I really don't need to buy any more eyeshadows/liners etc for several years - I already have everything I need!0 -
Welcome to all the newbies, coming in thick and fast.
Thanks for the photo of the gorgeous foal, adore horses and she's a beauty.
Celebrate, you sound in much better spirits now, very pleased about that.
Have a little uu, another of my la source mini's, a body lotion this time. Also my boots essentials cucumber eye make up remover is spluttering, couple more days left I think, wiba? yes but only when I've used the 5 other eye make up removers I have, its basic but does the job.
The Glamour mags seem to have flown off the shelves in this neck of the woods, hardly any to be seen, wonder if they will be re-stocked or if thats it. I didn't want another was just looking - honest. The devil makes works for idle hands0
