No Buying Toiletries in March Challenge
Comments
-
Afternoon all, a few UUs - packet of Boots floss, would buy again, another of the Tesco melon shampoos (still have three  left) and another sample Regenerist tube. Also had to chuck a Lancome lipstick that looked a bit too old.
One in, a Bourjois lipgloss, but I won it, so hopefully that doesn't count. Oh, and a foundation brush0 -

I had a body souffle once (from Avon). It's texture is between a lotion and a butter. Maybe use it in Autumn???
A UU for me this am: small bar of L'occitane Verbena soap. Have more in stash but not going to open just yet. Was very nice and creamy though. Haven't used soap for years. Didn't dry my skin out at all. This morning I had very thin slither left and used it about ten times over to get it down to the teeniest little blob that I flushed down the plughole. Am going to open my new TBS Lemon and Thyme shower gel next.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I am truly gutted about this as it made my hair lovely and soft and gave it that just coloured look but after perservering with just over half a bottle my scalp cannot take anymore! I shall be taking it into work tomorrow for a colleague! I had to get an In Neutrogena T-gel to help heal my scalp and I have got a tube of S & G glad hair day out of the stash. My head feels so much better already!
My scalp reacts to so many shampoo's - went through a lot of different brands during my late teens and twenties until I used MOP (often in TXMaxx) and haven't looked back since. I also found that when the hairdresser used their products I had the same problem, I now have a mobile hairdresser who uses my stuff so no more itchy scalp:)My first U/U! :j S&G calm one, calm all :j WIBA? Yes, but not for a while as I still have 5 full bottles left in my stash...
I've also given away some bits from my stash :j
And also painted my nails (17, peacock) for the first time in a few years
Not bad for my first day, I think...
Well done xoxo - a great start:TMarzipanFish wrote: »Whenever I look at this thread I always want more toiletries, I don't know how you guys are managing to get rid when you're always seeing temptation on here
I don't have an enormous stash or anything but i am TERRIBLE for not using up nice things and always 'saving' them.
So I'll try putting 10p or 20p in a pot for each nice toiletry usage (face/hair masks, lotions, butters) and get something new when I have enough. I have my eye on S&Gs hot cloth cleanser so hopefully theres another offer when I get there
Hiya MarzipanFish and welcome to the thread:hello:
Good luck with the Aldi job Roshy
Welcome back Tara -the Tesco DTD thing sounds good and celebrate is a dab hand at it but I don't have a car so would have to bus to tesco which is quite expensive then it is a long walk to the store and so it takes about forty minutes to get there and I just can't be bothered:(
Gonna re-do my stash list for April I think aswell - hope my stash hasn't grown:eek:0 -
I'll post photos of my stash in April. I haven't finished a bottle of perfume ever! :rotfl:
I've just finished a little bottle of Jean Paul Gaultier (the one that looks like a woman's torso in a corset). I've got several perfumes that I just never use, which are probably rank-smelling by now, but I wear the main one every day, so I get through it. Summer, winter, day or evening - I always smell the same. Gaultier, with undertones of coffee and exhaustion.
Also UU one of the sample Molton Brown lotions. WNBA - I'm beginning to think their stuff is massively overpriced for what it is.
Welcome newbies, and Happy Monday everyone! Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

May grocery challenge £45.61/£1200 -
I have an in to declare, V05 mousse. I have no idea what it's going to be like but it was £2.23. :eek:0
-
uuuuurgh - I feel like death on a stick
Still it's been a productive day so far - slowly trawling through DD's hellhole  made worse by the fact the every time I bend over and stand back up I have to sit down (or be sick - I'd rather sit down)
So I have some IN's but I'm not going to the naughty step as they were FREE
3/4 Bottle Simple Soothing Toner
Practically full bottle of Nuage Kids Detangling Spray - why oh why oh why could I have not found this 2 weeks ago before I went through all the hee-haw of finding an Avon rep so I could get some
1/2 full can of Soft Touch Body Spray
Full tube of Boots The Spa Hand & Foot Conditioner (conditioner? really :rotfl:)
Sample tube REN Rose Complex Moisturiser
1/2 Sample bottle Chanel Matifying Lotion (what do I do with this? Is it like Toner?)
Hotel sized bottles of Molton Brown Lili Pili Hairwash & Conditioner
Gonna put the 'hairwash' (just call it shampoo!) and conditioner in my travel kit (yes I know I said it was full but I'd rather use this than OH's Vosene which is what's in there now :rotfl:) and the rest will add to my stash.
The room looks like a jumble sale :rotfl: I've got a box of 'stuff' to go to the charity shop and a WALL of bags of clothes/handbags/shoes that are going to Women's Aid. Once they've gone (and the sofa which goes Friday) I'll be able to move in there :T :T. Then I can start on the other spare room - AKA 'The Christmas Shop'
Right now I need a sit down :cool:0 -
I was and still have a voucher here for over £49......but my flamin car broke down last Thursday so now I can't drive to Tesco to redeem it or buy anything else to DTD :mad:Welcome back Tara -the Tesco DTD thing sounds good and celebrate is a dab hand at it but I don't have a car so would have to bus to tesco which is quite expensive then it is a long walk to the store and so it takes about forty minutes to get there and I just can't be bothered:(
Oh, shame for you both!I hope Pudsey's car gets fixed soon.
I have several Tescos to choose from, and OH has taken me to the big Tesco Extra a couple of times... he doesn't really get my obsession but never mind! Free wine, razors, Baileys and roasting tins can be confusing!!! Yes, celebrate is a regular over on the other thread. :rotfl:
On the plus side, I haven't been near Boots - apart from once. OH needed a new electric toothbrush, and I exchanged unused Sanctuary/S&G stuff from my stash to the value of the toothbrush and he gave me the cash! Woo! I didn't even LOOK at anything else when I was in there either! Am I cured? Or am I going to need to start a 'No Tesco' challenge???? :rotfl:
I did have a small(ish) Body Shop slip-up though... well, a 50% + 10% (LYB) discount + 12.12% TCB is not be sniffed at, right? And I bought all HG products...

Welcome to all our new fellow toiletries/makeup hoarders
You're in good company, though maybe not in safe (but definitely soft) hands :rotfl:
I have a huge headache brought on by the stress of trying to go through 3 months invoices in 1/2 days nad not suceeding.
Roshy - glad to hear you've got a job - yay!!
lynsey - glad to hear you're feeling better/happier
Loving the stash lists and pics. I love pics. For those that didn't already know that! Went through the freebies from the Vitality Show very quickly over the weekend. Lots of sachets, will list or take a pic.
It's amazing when you finish a bottle of perfume, the Givenchy one last week was only the third time ever I've finished one. Which is saying something seeing how many I have (nope celebrate - not even close to yours)
Bit annoyed with myself as past week keep forgetting (or too tired) to use BB. And that doesn't help get the stash down
And I've been seeing things I want (yep the OPI colours. And nails inc. And the UD shadow sticks. And UD cream highlight. And...)
If I finish one box of things, I will treat myself to one of those then. Doesn't help I bought some fairly expensive sunglasses yesterdayAt least my funds to spend on toiletries/makeup are now lower because of it
I always think every government agency/company in this country must have my details on file. It does worry me slightly, what if they lost it all (again)? I don't that much about them, so why should they know it all about me? I understand the census is great from the history aspect, but I mean it's still a lot of information. Even for kids! My sister was going spare looking at what she has to answer even for a 5 year old! Better her than me :PNo buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60
