have you all seen this from MSE email?

Get one of ten Clinique freebies when you pick up a copy of Glamour's April edition (out Thur 3 March, £2, Fearne Cotton on the cover). The Clinique products are travel size (exc. the below lipstick) and are worth £79ish in total, so it's worth stocking up! Glamour_cover.jpg
The ten mini products to choose from are (we've calculated their worth based on the full sized products on the Clinique website):
    • Liquid facial soap 30ml - £1.95
    • Eye make-up remover 30ml - £3.48
    • All about eyes eye cream 5ml - £7.50
    • 7 day scrub rinse-off formula 30ml - £5.10
    • Long last glosswear 2.3ml - £5.37
    • Superbalm moisturising gloss 7ml - £6.07
    • High impact mascara 4g - £7.50
    • Dramatically different moisturiser 30ml - £9
    • High impact lipstick full size - £15
    • Moisture surge thirst relief 30ml - £18
The magazine will be on sale until Fri 1 April.

of course the one I want is the most expensive:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:bet they have loads of the cheap ones tho:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Picked up 4 of these babies yesterday. Freebies I obtained are : Moisture surge, Dramaticaly Different Moisturiser, the eye cream and mascara (this one was for a work colleague who I was planning to go instore with today to reccie the mag). Got these from the co-op close to work. Last time the Benefit freebies were given away one of the staff members asked if I had found everything I wanted and there I hadn't. She was happy to go into the stock room and find me another copy so yesterday I brazenly asked if they had any more copies of the mag in the stock room as there were no moisturisers on the shelf. The guy brought the box full out for me to have a nosey through. There were only two mags with the moisturiser on (the main of them had the scrubs on them). I'll be using the eye cream soon I think as my LE one is spluttering and I then have a Boots Vitamin E one (which I started using) to finish off. The moisturisers I will save to use as night cream - at the mo am finishing off a tub of Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference and then only have one tub of night cream in my stash.

I've got a beige nails inc nail varnish too. I actually used it to label all of DD's camping equipment before she went to brownie camp. Horrid stuff. It didn't even go on nicely so it's a horrid colour which goes streaky too.

I have a bottle of Nails Inc nude which is quite nice but know what you mean because I also won another bottle with the Dairy Milk promotion and it went on like tippex. Even Emma didn't want it.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I've got a S&G handwash that just won't stop spluttering!
Good value for money, smells nice and leaves hands soft, so I'm enjoying using it.
I'm just conscious I have several more handwashes in my cupboard after this one....

    Couple of UU
Radox bath salts - WIBA yes. I find these really relaxing and help ease my cramps - also cheap less than a pound for a box.
Lush H'Swan Wen Hua (?spelling) conditioner - WIBA yes for the action and the smell but no for the price.
Avon alcohol free toner - WIBA yes -just opened another from my stash

No spends in February for me.

Will need to buy some hair dye this week as my greys are coming through. I do have some Clairol Plum in but am on the hunt for Black Cherry which our Boots never has in. If I do find it might have to stock up.

Happy holidays Rosemary, and welcome to the newest newbies :)

I did paint my nails on Tuesday night, I just haven't managed to upload a piccie yet - I used a pink kind of jelly colour by Bourjois, which hasn't chipped yet, so pleased with that. I also didn't realise it was scented until yesterday morning - strawberry I think, very odd! I'll take it off and change tonight though, as I need something to last the weekend. I'll try and upload pics of both tonight...

I'm loving the pics posted by others - VALM and sawan, what lovely colours! What exactly is the 'nail effects' thing though? Who sells it? (Not that I would ever buy of course )

Now, I have a confession to make - since moving in to my new flat I've gone back to the Tigi Rockstar shampoo that I wasn't too convinced about before, as the water is softer in the new place, and the shampoo seemed better in it. But my hair has been getting drier and drier :( So last night I cracked open a new bottle of another shampoo I used before that I think was about the closest to a HG shampoo I've ever got. And voila, hair is immediately softer and shinier! Thing is, this new one is also Tigi, but the Bedhead Dumb Blonde range. Just goes to show the difference you can get even with the same manufacturer!

I'll still use up the other Tigi for various things (makeup brushes etc) and friends staying, as I know quite a few people who really like it.
I'm also getting really itchy reading about all the mag purchases, coz I can't get them! :rotfl: I've asked a few friends to look out for me though, and I'll do a bit of shopping in the UK this weekend ;) Sorry, but 2 of the products are HGs for me!

Mine tends to chip within a couple of days because of work. Some ppl suggest painting a bit over the tip, IYKWIM, to prevent that. Never worked for me though. I either remove or live with it chipped :o

Welcome to the board horse76! Seeing it in b&w is frightening, but it works :s

I've tried that a few times, but not sure it ever did much - I don't bother now.

Damn Boots - first thing I saw when I checked my email was that offer - GGrrrrr - I can't afford it though so tough!! :p At least with the BS offer I didn't notice it until it was too late - had a wierd disappointment-mixed-with-happiness feeling when I realised I'd missed it :rotfl:

I saw that offer too, and was tempted, but then looked and realised there's not that much I'd actually like/use, so it wasn't really that great value. I'd rather wait until I needed some S&G stuff I love, and there's another 3for2 (there will always be another!) and buy just the really good stuff then. See what this challenge has done to me!?:j

    Good morning!

I have a couple of UUs to report after a pampering bath last night.

Sanctuary Facial Sugar Scrub - This was a mini sachet that I picked up somewhere. WIBA? No, the orange scent was way too strong for me and made my eyes stream. Hoping I don't unearth too many more when I undertake the mammoth list of digging out and listing my stash.

Nondescript bath foam - this was another mini from a hotel (I have lots of these as I often get sent on away jobs with work). Even if I could buy it, I wouldn't - it smelt quite chemically.

Tresemme Intensive Hair Mask - this is a big tub that has been on the go for a while. WIBA? Possibly, did make my hair feel quite soft and nourished although I'd like to try something else next.

Also, chucked out a novelty bottle of bath foam for Golfers. No idea where it came from, my OH doesn't even play golf! It was luminous green and smelt like toilet cleaner so it went straight into the bin.

Fiasco55 - sorry to tell you this, but that primer is amazing! My skin feels really soft and my foundation definitely looked smoother. It is quite expensive for such a small pot though, so well done for resisting.

That's all for now - still dreading counting then posting my stash though!

    xx

I've taken a pic of my stash but and downloaded it to my computer but i can't work out how to get it on here - can anyone help?? xx
  • Happy holidays rosemary!

OUT in this morning's bath - Lush The Ex Factor bath ballistic. WIBA? Yes, it smelt really nice and made the water an amazing shade of swimming pool esque blue, but it's a Valentine's limited edition so I'll have to wait until next year.

I'm going to swing by Debenhams this afternoon between trains as I need some more of my Benefit foundation, so I might treat myself to either Clarins Beauty Flash Balm or YSL Touche Eclat to go over the spend threshold, and then possibly spend the rewards (as the extra points will take me to £15 worth of freebies) on the other product in a few weeks' time. However I'd probably only count the Beauty Flash Balm as an IN as I generally don't include make-up...

Still no Glamour though :( so I might see if I can get a copy with the eye cream at the station to read on the train this afternoon, and then just give my subscription copy to my sister or donate it to the local hairdressers.

I'm completely new to the forums so please tell me if I'm going about this incorrectly.
I have an insane amount of body stuff that I need to use - no idea how I've accumulated so much considering I'm in uni halls and only have a room with no hand basin etc!

Hi Jezminda, welcome to the thread! Don't worry about 'doing it wrong', we all have our own way of using stuff up, what counts etc here so I'm sure you'll fit right in :)

Also, if it makes you feel any better, when I lived in halls (I did have a wash basin but it was a shared shower/bath) I had an entire huge plastic tub full of Lush products as starting uni coincided with discovering Lush. So it's not just you!

Minerva - love the sound of lime green and crackle top coat! Bet it look great! Must try that colour

The green is Ciate Mojito, and Beauty Bay sell it (I'd wanted it for ages but it was bought as a sideline to a Mavala polish I could only find there and which didn't justify paying nearly as much in postage as the product itself) so may be worth checking out if you've got the 10% discount from Give and Make Up ;)

There's a photo of me wearing it (slightly trowelled on I admit because I have ridged nails so polish streaks really easily on me, which makes it look much more neon than it actually is) with crackle on Facebook, I'll try and dig it out later.

I am another one who doesn't like Nails Inc though, they've got some nice colours but for what they cost I find the quality is a bit rubbish.

The nail effects stuff (which some brands like OPI call 'crackle' or 'shatter' polish) basically goes on over your polish like a normal nail varnish, and then I think the exposure to air causes something in it to split so you can see your coloured polish underneath. Generally the thicker the layer, the fewer splits there are in the polish, so I like to put it on quite thinly.

I have the Barry M one which I think costs about £4 for one bottle (so slightly more expensive than a normal Barry M polish but will last twice as long as you only need one coat) but OPI also sell it for around £10 a bottle although I've found the Barry M one perfectly OK. It looks like a normal black polish in the bottle so if you do get some look for the crackle effect on the lid. A couple of the US brands like China Glaze have started doing coloured crackle as well which works in the same way.

Have a fab holiday Rosemary - jealous much over here!

Hello to all the newbies, and welcome. Having the stash lists up really help you focus on what you have - when your brain knows you have 10 bottles of something, I've found it is easier to put things back on the shelf in the shop! Doesn't work for everyone, but I like 'shopping from the stash'.

One UU for me, the last of the Nivea body wash went this morning. Onto the shea butter OS one now! Struggling madly with using up skin creams though - can't seem to get them to disappear.

Have a great day everyone x
