Another UU: Boots Extracts Cocoa Butter Body Butter.

WIBA? It was very rich, but a little flaky. I'm not sure if that's how it is meant to be, or just age. :o

Thanks Charlie, I have been sitting on it for years at Ikea! I like it but never realised that it was so cheap in white. We weren't needing sofas any other time we went there so just used to have a little sit down when we we were shopping :rotfl:.
I just don't want to spend what is still a sizeable chunk of money on something that won't last.
My DH slumps too but I'm quite happy to plump the cushions on a daily basis. I just can't go on withour current family sofa as my back is in pieces since I jarred it at christmas and the sofa makes it so much worse.
I think that it is a small price to pay for marital harmony, mummy who can walk without issues and isn't grumpy due to lack of sleep :)

Yeah it seems the prices really vary due to colour, we could have got the white one especially as how low priced it was at the time but Im SO clumsy it would have ended up stained beyond belief in no time - decided on dark brown in the end a fair bit more expensive but worth it for something I knew I wouldn't be able to ruin :D

All in all I think I probably only plump the back maybe once a month or so.....I really can't complain for the price and it was sooo much nicer than any of the others I saw in sofa shops - some were hideous!

Only thing I can think of, is that you might want some cushions for the corners - just because I like to lean in them lol but other than that personally I love IKEA stuff, everything we bought for the flat is from there :p

On another note I shall not be buying ANYTHING non-essential for the rest of this month and throughout April...realised my bank account is in a very sorry state!

Also I dont suppose anyone has any advice about my hair? I actually seem to moult (sp?) like a dog - no joke my hair gets EVERYWHERE - the amount I seem to loose anyone would think Id have bald patches (I dont :p) but Im sure its not natural to loose so much hair? Its not long either, shoulder length and in fairly good condition but Ive always lost a lot of hair even since I was little....its becomming a never ending job hoovering up tonnes of hair from the carpet..

Have to say this weeks not getting any better, Sunday night I went to bed at 12, woke up at 3 and just could not get back to sleep, ended up just lying there the rest of the night and then had uni all day Monday! Had a careers interview which basically told me how stupid I am - the bloke basically said Im f***ed because I should have sorted all this out in my second year, not 4 weeks before I finish uni, In a catch 22 situation now, Cant do anything to help me get a job because I can't afford it, Cant get a job because I don't have the experience....
Said I basically need to do voluntary work - of course that won't pay my bills will it? Said I should look at doing an MA in social work, but again I need to do the voluntary work first, even though I explained I could NEVER afford to do an MA anyway.... Really really frustrates me when everyone assumes just because Im a student I have mummy and daddy there to support me and that I can go back home etc - When in reality I live here, I have my own bleeding flat etc...

Coming down with some bug now which is typical as Ive got to finish my dissertation this week too when all I want to do is sleep......

Sorry you are having a rough time of it just now Charlie... Did you have any placements as part of your course - you can use to beef up the experience boxes on application forms? Also any transferable skills and partnership working experience in other places of work before Uni? All of these items can help.

Ooooh, I have my eye on an Elemis cleanser and toner (once I've finished my current stash, of course!!):A - any recommendations/warnings gratefully received. I have fairly combination skin - I literally can get dry flakey patches with oil slicks on top on a bad day, on a good day I tend towards a bit oily as the day goes on... I think I'm massively dehydrated though (drinking lots of cola and very little water, another habit I need to kick!).
    xx

I used the balanced Elemis set which is for combination skin. It lasted really well too. I used day and night since the end of October. I paid £18 online from salon skincare (discount code and cashback). QVC regularly have it on offer too. Last time they had a set plus the day moisturiser for £27ish.

Another UU for me - my Issay Mikaye perfume that I brought into work. I would guess that this is over 10 years old (I store them in a trunk case that is always closed so no light gets into it.) So I have another one unopened in this stash but I wll be working through some of my other ones first. Will go stash shopping tonight to select which one I will be taking into work tomorrow.

Have a nice night ladies - I am off to the pics to see The Lincon Lawyer to  over Matt Mc & Ryan P...

I have previous work experience but unfortunately all my jobs have ended in disasters and means I cant get a reference from any of them!

Used to work at Woolworths which obviously no longer exists, then I worked very temporary at a cafe, never even had a contract and they basically told me they'll call me if they ever need me again after 2 months of being there, then I worked at a solicitors for almost a year, but on a somewhat casual basis but only because my mum was the manager, the firm was taken over, they made most of the staff redundant and my mum left on very unhappy terms.

Doesn't look so good for me really...

It comes to something when I can't even get a job at the likes of McDonalds or KFC (been rejected for both )

the exact same thing happens to me. I'm lucky now that we only have carpet on the stairs and in the dining room so it's easy to sweep up but it seems like everyday I find enough to make a wig:eek:

  • Evening all,

Argh, so many posts to read and so little time! I've a UU to report in the meantime:
John Frieda hair foam. I wasn't going to buy this again after trying it before, as it came out quite dark, but I've grown used to the colour so I used it again last night. My usual problem with blonde dyes is that they can give my hair a gingery tint, but this doesn't, so I think I will stick with it.

2 splutterers still hanging in: literally drops of Pretty perfume, and a rapidly drying out Hand food. I'm hoping for UUs tomorrow. :)

In the last few months I have been using up various facial products from Dr Hauschka that I got for Christmas. I have always wanted to try their products.

Day creams used up: Rose Day cream, Quince day cream and moisturising day cream - didn't like any of them because of the weird texture

Cleansers used up: Cleansing Milk, didn't like this one. Cleansing Cream, I liked this one, I liked the "scrubby" feeling of using this product.

The facial toner, I liked this too since it felt really moisturising.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
    Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j
