Had to call the police on my parents today :(

Tbh I can see why parents who were police officers would be a tad miffed with "child" who drove a defective, untaxed, uninsured car, and made light of all those things, as the Op did above. How they handle that annoyance is another matter, but in the heat of the moment we can all fly off the handle. I suspect the words immaturity, and irresponsibilty were bandied around? that is what parents do when they are concerned that a "child" is not getting the seriousness of a situation. And I know you are over 18 but to them you are still their child.
Obviously, the fact that they upset your kids is not on, but unless they are habitually this way I would try to clm down and have a rational conversation with them about the incident.0 -

It seems like there has been something going on between you and your parents for a longer time than that.0

A rear brakelight is easy to miss.. we had that in the focus.. no warning lights came up and we only knew because I happened to be walking somewhere as OH drove off in the same direction and he had to brake at the junction.
You were in the wrong, you admit that and are willing to take responsibility for that.. which is fine.. and no doubt is all sorted now.. You do know you can sort the tax online? takes a couple of days for the new disc to come but all nice and simple.
I'd report the 'mate' and I would press charges on the parents if possible.. see how that looks on their record.. as long as you allow yourself to be bullied by them they will continue.
Keep in touch with the sisters via fb or email... they might need a bolthole at some point. My thoughts exactly. The friend is the OP.
OP - please, you need help and support. Please go and see your GP tomorrow and book a double appointment. Take a print out of your previous thread and this one, and get some support. There's no shame in it.
No, this is a friend, we met through a baby forum elsewhere, but thanks for your concern.

Sorry, but given that you do not know the OP's background, or the history of her relationship with her parents, I think that is jumping the gun, and burning a lot of bridges, and not at all helpful advice. From there there is only one way the relationship will go.0 -
A friend with children the same age as yours, an OH the same, and parents that are both police officers, not to mention the same mental health conditions.
Right.
I dont see how that conclusions been made?
I've not mentioned my children's ages. My mum and dad are PO's well office PO's not on the beat ones and I work full time. I've got a bout of PND vs some severe disioactive disorder?0 -

There is a thread made by you titled, 'Mentally ill friend' and her circumstances are identical to yours.

because I didn't read her previous threads did I not?
they are breaching the terms of their employment and breaking the law.. and because they are officers they should be allowed to get away with it? no chance..
It is burning one bridge.. the one with a bullying family.. if they don't love you enough to want you to be happy you don't need them in your life.. families love you and support you through everything, they don't kick you while you are down. and make you miserable.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
