Had to call the police on my parents today :(

I'm in such a mess, My parents came barging into my house this morning started shouting at me infront of my boyfriend and my kids and they just wouldnt leave, It was awful both my kids were crying I was standing there in tears telling them ot get out of my house and my boyfriend's just sitting there not knowing what to do.

I ended up calling 999 and they eventually left but I just can't do this anymore, I've got PND and I've just changed Ad's again. I don't want anything to do with them anymore and I know she will now posion the extended family against me, she's already made my younger sisters 'unfriend' me on facebook... how pathetic is that :( they are only 12 & 15.

I recently had to change my landline number because of a fall out with them but for some stupid reason I always forgive them and try to make better, I hate my house now and don't feel safe here with them just down the road, but we've got no where else to go...
sorry this is a babbly mess I needed to let it out.

  • That'll teach you to open the front door when you don't know who's outside! If you don't want anything more to do with them I would have thought that it would be quite simple to cut them out of your life for good. I don't think there's any need to think about leaving your home until you're good and ready. perhaps the visit from the police will have made them sit up and take notice

Why did they barge in and why were they shouting and bawling in front of the kids.

Calm down and we may be able to help.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I didnt open the door to them they just walked in through the back door, I'm not too fussed about cutting them out its loosing my younger sisters & my nan etc... as it will be impossible for me to have a relationship with any of them now.

What was the issue they were shouting about?

Basically, I got pulled over on friday morning, had a rear brakelight out and OH had let his tax run out. Then found out my insurance wasnt valid to drive his car *doh!* so I got a ticket which was a pain but my own fault completly, I hadnt realised it didnt cover me as my old policy did...

So traffic officer is friends with my police officer parents and rings them this morning to tell them he has pulled me over!! I am over 18 so no need for them to be informed, and they've come barging round about the ticket shouting about it upsetting the children and not leaving when asked too, so I told them if they didnt leave I'd call 999 they still wouldnt leave so I did and they then caused more of a scene and left.
  • There's more to this than meets the eye. I can't think if any parents who would walk in uninvited and make a scene about something that's none of their business. And as for getting your sisters to "unfriend" you on Facebook smacks of desperation.
  • B&T's right. Sit down, deep breaths then do the full story. Has this anything to do with your 'friend' in an earlier thread?

If this is true I would be making an official complaint to the police department. The officer would have no right to disclose that to your parents!

Nope that the long and the short of it, the bloke that pulled me over is thier "mate" so rung them this morning at home, I have a feeling he was going to magically lose the "ticket" because i'm their daughter so he had rung to tell them that, but to be honest i'd rather just pay the bloody thing than have had to deal with all this. There's a reason i didnt bloody tell them myself. I dont even think they are legally allowed to tell anyone because I am over 18?

My thoughts exactly. The friend is the OP.

OP - please, you need help and support. Please go and see your GP tomorrow and book a double appointment. Take a print out of your previous thread and this one, and get some support. There's no shame in it.
