    Hi all :hello:

I missed last weeks weigh in, had lots of choc for my birthday and it TOTM, so there was no way I was getting on the scales :D Yesterday I couldn't resist so I jumped on, I've gained 2lbs :o

I want to post more often but one of my guinea pigs chewed the router. I'm using a very short lead between the laptop and modem ATM, it's really awkward to type. Hopefully will be back to normal by friday.

Have you altered your diet, or up'ed your exercise, I find going mad at the gym, and being very strict with my diet for just one week, could see me lose 2-3lbs and get me over that mental barrier of -1 / +1 every week.

I have been doing 2 or 3 per wk of 12 hr shifts of semi constant walking for 3 weeks,(round a large KERN mailing machine, its ctax time at the council) plus my usual 8hrs at the DIY store, 2nd job where I tend to do approx 12,000 steps, and have averaged between 9.5 and 10 thousand steps per week.
    I wear a pedometer 6 days a week.

Diet has altered - at home tea is mainly protein & veggies; at work its carbs and fat as jacket potatoes and marg are cheap & filling.....

Also, I have run out of money before I have run out of month!!
So lunch hasn`t always been great....

All these are excuses really and I hope to WIPE THE FLOOR with all of you next month! :rotfl:

  • DH managed to fix the scales last night, I have no idea how. Weighed myself this morning, and I'm down to 149lb, which is a loss of 3.4lb this week, and a total loss of 7lb! Yeeeeeehaaaaaaaa!

This week has been rather hectic, instead of doing 8-4/5 i've been stuck around until 7-8pm meaning my efforts at the gym have been rubbish.
Hit the gym this morning instead of the usual evening routine and managed a 20km bike ride, and 15 minutes on my abs/core. I feel so much better for it. My stomach is certainly a lot more settled than it usually is in the morning, and I know don't have to care about what time I leave, I just hope the sun is still out when I do.

Keep up the great work everyone, remember if you have a bad week, or even a bad month. Don't get down about it, this challenge is for life, whats a bad week if 5 years down the line you're still in great shape. Just keep going.

    Good Afternoon
Didn't get on here yesterday to report as I was too busy organising an engagement party for June :) So as if my health wasn't a good excuse to get the bulk off my wedding in June 2013 has got to be! Dust off the hats peeps!
After the very very bad weekend, that rolled over into this week I somehow stayed the same :) I'm not moaning but I bet it registers on the scales next week!
ShAnE- Thanks for the words of advice above :) I needed that after the pasta I just scoffed for lunch, now I don't feel so bad.....
    Take care luvvies

    Hiya :hello:

My new modem arrived yesterday, I'm back online properly. My arm is nearly normal, just the occasional pins and needles now. Everything is organised in the house (we've been doing our kitchen, we've had half the stuff in the lounge) so I now have room to do my zumba and pilates DVDs, which I've dug out and are ready to be played :D I start a new job at the end of April, now I know my hours I have arranged my exercise around them. So monday, wednesday and friday mornings will do for now, I'll probably do more when I've got used to the new routine.

Have decided to put off my weigh-in til sunday :D

I am struggling this week. Not with over eating, but with not eating enough. I don't have any energy or inclination to eat dinner, and am worried this will impact on my weight loss. :(

  • Bluebellbunny, I know it's hard to diet and give up smoking but be positive, if you don't diet now you'll pile on the weight and then have to diet and exercise even more later. Things will look a whole lot better in a few weeks when the cravings are gone and the weight is coming off, stick with it.
Thank you so much for that Maldives lover, I am trying desperately to stick to giving up both the fags and the fatness, hopefully I can battle through :)

    Thanks ShAnE :)

I have just found out that I have an underactive thyroid  I know some of you ladies suffer from that and it explains a lot! I'd like your advise though.....my Dr doesn't want to put me on drugs yet, he says it is not VERY underactive, even though I seem to have almost ALL of the symptoms, and just wants to retest in 3 months!!! Is there things that I can do for myself? I have had a quick look online and ordered some sea kelp tablets from H&B, can you suggest anything else that I can try? Any help would be greatly appreciated ;) I've just had a sneaky WI and all is definitely NOT looking rosey for my end of March total :o

    Hi Bluebelbunny,

I've got an underactive thyroid, but when I was diagnosed it was very underactive (the doctor was shocked that I was able to get out of bed at all!) and he put me straight on medication, so I'm afraid I don't have much in the way of advice.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will be along soon...
