  • Hi Paul Varjak,

I completely agree with you, I posted an urgent warning on this site that the login was not secure a few weeks ago but it just got moved to another unrelated thread about sign up and I had no responses. It was not just the login that was insecure but the amendment of credit card details at that time. I worry there is no password as from working on internet sites I know how easy it is to hack into both 18866 and 1899 from the information you have to provide. My final worry is how secure the database is they are keeping all of our credit card details in as if they can't secure the front end I see no reason for it to be any better at the backend.

Unfortunately the cheapness of the telephone calls has got the better of me and I take the risk. Otherwise their is no way I would use this site.
  • Everything is now secure as far as I can see. If it's not for you, manually insert the 's' after the http (to make it https) in the URL you use to open the site and re-send. The padlock should appear.

It works every time for me on both 1899 and 18866 (I've save the revised URLs into my favourites now).

  • I've been registered for about three months with 18866 and, apart from often not seeing the padlock when logging in to my account, no other problems. However, I have been trying for weeks to register with 1899 but no padlock. At last today there was a padlock on both 18866 and 1899! I duly registered with 1899 and two minutes later got an e-mail back telling me:

"Unfortunately your 1899 internet registration has failed.
Our apologies, but due to lack of capacity it is currently not possible to register.

    Kind regards,
    1899 Customer Services"

Ah, well, I'll just keep trying!

PS Thanks for the tip about putting an 's' after http, hadn't thought of that!
