Debit card is free definitely, only charge is credit card.
Like I said, when I tried there was a £11 charge for both my debit and credit cards. The on bonus to paying online is its actually cheaper and you can back out of the payment unlike via telephone which only tells you what the charge will be as it takes the money.0 -
Thomas Cook definately don't charge for paying with debit card though flythomascook do.0

I will clarify one last time. I am not disputing the fact there is a fee, what I am unhappy with is the fact I was not notified of the fee until it was too late. I was given no chance to back out once the fee was calculated and added to the bill.0

No I booked a package holiday, a week all inclusive in Cuba, and there was no fee for paying with my debit card. I thought maybe you had booked a flight.0

on the Thomas Cook holiday payment page, where you enter your card details it saysCredit card fees: There is no fee if you choose to pay by Maestro, Delta, Solo, Visa debit or MasterCard debit. If you pay by credit card (Visa/ Mastercard/Thomas Cook Visa), there is a 2.5% credit card fee.0

Right well less then 24 hours ago I tried to pay the balance of my holiday by debit card and was presented with an £11 fee, so something seems to be wrong somewhere.0 -
Makes sense to me.
Is there any travel agents who dont levy a CC fee?
OP you could have gone to a bank and withdrawn the £451 over the counter, (not if it was a sunday of course).
Surprised the TA wouldnt take a card though unless of course it was because you booked over internet or phone and they didnt really want to/arent obliged to take your payment at all
I booked a holiday with Chevron Air Holidays this afternoon and, although I prefer to book by credit card because of the added security, was going to pay by debit card as I assumed there would be an additional fee for using a credit card but no - there was no charge for either credit or debit card. I quickly reached for the credit card (which will of course be paid off in full!!).0 -

Sorry OP, but I think you;re just being awkward. You say you know you were going to be charged but are now complaining no one told you? If you knew why would anyone tell you
I don't think wanting to know what the charge is before being forced to pay it as being awkward do you?
In any point I have spoken to Thomas Cook and they have refunded my credit card and allowed me to pay via debit card in full without the surcharge.0
