Take care of yourself Bonnington. Rest a bit until your back feels good again. Be careful you haven't damaged it more than you think.

Sorry to hear about all the costs of travel and the driving. There is an old saying 'if we didn't have to eat we would be rich' well I always say 'if we didn't have kids we would be rich' :):):)

Mrs Moneypenny calls them her cost-centres :):):):)

Ah we got to laugh or we will cry Bonnington.

Put your feet up for a while Bonnington :) You deserve it.
  • Well done on the surveys that was a good amount :)

Not sure how big your house is but is it possible for rooms to be used as a b&b there? Or perhaps students in the summer if they come over your way at all? Just for the extra income? You must feel very stressed at the thought of DW reducing her hours if you need every penny :( ....I hope your updated figures are better than you are predicting Mr B...
    Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. J- £103.27, F- £115, M- £91.50, A- £100, M- £200, J- £200. J- £200. A-£200, S- £221.34. O-£200
    Total- £1783.67
Goal pay off 1% of current mortgage in 1 year. £1650
    EF- £642.41/500
  • Morning Bonnington.

Sorry you're having a rough time of it at the moment :( I know that Mrs B doesn't know about all of the debt, but could you do an SOA, tweak it slightly so that the debts aren't listed (just put in an amount for total minimum repayments) and show it to her? If she saw how tight your monthly budget is, then it might help her understand why reducing hours isn't an option.

  • Good morning, Mr B.

You have my respect for the way that you are continuing to battle. However bleak and whatever blips, you pick yourself up, face up to the truth and get back into the thick of it. You are carrying burdens many of us don't have. You are inspirational!

You will get there - because each day you are a different person and your approach to all that you have in your life changes just a little. You sound a very caring person, both to your family and to your house and garden.

Hang in there - you have people here who really wish you something good every day.

    Hi Bonnington

I agree with all the posts from other members ... you are a lovely person and you try your utmost to sort the debt out but you cannot do this alone. Your wife needs to know that she cannot give up her work basically unless you sell the house.

You are such a good husband making sure she gets to work but its going to take its strain on you. With respect you need to start saying NO more often. I hope that doesn't sound too cheeky but I am not saying it to insult you or knock you down.

You are carrying too much on your shoulders and you can only do that for so long.

God bless x and keep going. You have so much support here. :)
