Ok I take on your points. However, I'm sure if BBC watchdog ran a report on it then it would certainly be an issue for Match. There is no doubt they make a lot of money from people either forgetting to cancel or not going through their cancellation process properly.0

It's a perfectly acceptable and very common business practice. Insurance companies do it all the time. Internet domain name packages do it.
It's the same premise as a standing order except on a yearly basis, rather than a monthly one.

The same thing happened to me omcornwall. They know people are going to cancel and delete their accounts unwittingly so therefore cannot gain access to cancel this payment. I wouldn't say it's a scam it's just misleading but god damn irritating and very costly!!! My Match account expired, but I was caught out by stupidly signing up to Match Affinity for a cheap trial, I had no idea I was inline to be hit with further charges down the line of £75. When I rang them they said that my account was cancelled so couldn't understand why I was being charged and nor could they.. then I realised what had happened, extremely angry with myself.0

No, I'm sorry you are wrong. It obvious you are far away from what society want from a service. I'm not saying that automatic renewal systems shouldn't operate. I have a problem however with companies whom I believe deliberately fail to inform consumers of significant charges. Granted most people who buy goods or services do not read pages of small print. And please if you think consumers read every word of terms and conditions then you really are on a different planet, then charges should be made clear at all stages. And please answer me this question. Why after somebody deleting an account would they then want to pay for that account several months later?0

Your question is not relevant to the matter in hand.
And just because I disagree with your interpretation of this case, it does not mean I'm "wrong". The fact of the matter is that YOU handed over your financial details and signed up for a service without checking it out first, and are now trying to find someone else to blame.
